Pica BIG Ink Smart-Use Marker XL, Blue - 170/41 Pica BIG Ink 170/41 is a permanent marker with a deep hole function in blue. The manufacturer calls it the Smart-Use Marker XL - a combination of a deep hole marker and a permanent marker in one tool. Its thick tip allows both bold and precise marking on all smooth materials, while the extra-long tip reaches hard-to-reach places. 2-4 mm tip and the Twist&Revive system The line width is 2-4 mm and the marker is 160 mm long. The special tip is soft and sturdy at the same time, which according to Pica gives it a unique writing feel. The double writing tip uses the Twist&Revive system: it can be twisted and reinserted, so the marker quickly revives and lasts longer. XL ink reservoir and side holster The XL ink reservoir gives a longer writing time. The marker sits in a side holster, so it is always at hand, and the manufacturer also lists one-hand operation. Pica advises always closing the marker after use to prevent it from drying out. Ink The red, blue and black variants use a permanent alcohol-based ink which, according to the manufacturer, is immediately water- and abrasion-resistant. This page is for the blue marker 170/41. For refilling, Pica sells the Ink Refill Set separately in black, blue and red - a glass bottle with 25 ml of ink and a pipette for precise dosing, enough for 15 fillings and more. BIG Ink or Pica Ink Pica's Innovative Line includes two ink markers for deep holes. Pica Ink is a deep hole marker with a 1.5 mm tip, while the manufacturer describes BIG Ink as a combination of a deep hole marker and a permanent marker - with a thicker 2-4 mm tip for bolder lines. The Ink Refill Set is shared by both markers. Surfaces and colours BIG Ink is intended for all smooth and dry surfaces. The manufacturer lists tiles, glass, plastic, paper, metal, rubber, wood and brick. The range comes in four colours - red (170/40), blue (170/41), black (170/46) and white (170/52) - and blister packs in the same colours are available for retail. Pica-Ink Deep Hole Marker, black, 150/46 Pica-Ink 150/46 is a marker for deep and hard-to-reach holes with black ink. Length 152 mm, line width 2 mm. The ink is permanent and waterproof. Supplied as 1 piece. The colour This article is black - both the ink and the body of the marker. Across the Pica-Ink 150 range the barrel colour follows the ink colour, so the variant is identified on sight rather than by testing it on the material: 150/46 is black, 150/40 red, 150/41 blue. The extended tip The tip is stainless steel, extended and adjustable. That is the whole point of the tool: an ordinary marker will not enter a hole, and even where it does, the thick barrel covers the spot so you cannot see where you are writing. The thin metal tip passes through the hole and marks the bottom. Where it is used On fixing through a finished surface: marking the structure behind a drilled hole, marking inside deep recesses, in sections, behind cladding and inside boxes. It also serves for marking in wet or oily conditions, where an ordinary pencil leaves nothing. Permanent and waterproof The ink is permanent - it does not smear on contact and does not disappear in damp. Working outdoors or in a cellar, that is essential: a mark made before the rain has to be there after it. 2 mm line width 2 mm is the compromise between visibility and precision. A finer line is lost on a rough substrate - concrete, brick, sawn timber; a thicker one will not place a point with usable accuracy. Ink or graphite The Pica deep-hole range comes in two kinds, and the choice between them is not a matter of taste. Ink markers such as this one write on smooth, wet and oily surfaces - metal, plastic, glazed tile - where graphite simply slides. The graphite versions suit dry timber, concrete and plasterboard, where the mark later has to be rubbed or sanded away. Ink is permanent: on a surface that will be seen, it can still show through a thin coat of paint. The metal tip The tip is stainless steel rather than plastic or felt. The difference is in its life: a felt tip of that length crushes the first time it meets concrete, whereas the metal one keeps its shape. Pica-Ink Deep Hole Marker, Red, 150/40/SB Pica-Ink 150/40 is a marker for hard-to-reach places, with red ink, a length of 152 mm and a 2 mm line. The ink is permanent and waterproof. EAN 4260056150104. The SB suffix denotes blister packaging. The extended tip The tip is extended, in stainless steel, and adjustable. That is the whole point of the range: the marker reaches into a drilled hole, a narrow gap or behind a section where an ordinary marker fouls on the edge and never reaches the bottom. For marking hole depth or a point behind an obstruction there is effectively no alternative. Permanent and waterproof The ink does not rub off and does not wash away. That is the difference from the graphite Pica-Dry range, whose mark can be corrected. Here the marking is final - an advantage where it must survive rain, dust and handling, and a drawback for setting out lines that later get in the way. Why red On the Pica-Ink range the body colour follows the ink colour, so the variant is recognisable on sight without opening it. Red reads well on light and metallic surfaces. The range also offers black (150/46) and blue (150/41) for other substrates. Loose or blister The same marker exists under two numbers: 150/40 loose and 150/40/SB on a retail blister. The tool is identical; only the packaging differs. Check the number when ordering, because the names are practically the same. What it writes on PICA's ink markers grip metal, plastic, wood and stone, including smooth and lightly oiled surfaces. That makes them an installation tool rather than an office marker. Storage Keep the marker tightly capped and preferably horizontal. A fine metal tip dries out faster than a broad felt one, and once blocked it is hard to recover - the usual reason such a marker stops writing long before the ink runs out. Technical specifications ManufacturerPICA Article150/40/SB RangePica-Ink TypeDeep hole marker Ink colourRed Line width2 mm Length152 mm Pieces in pack1 TipExtended, adjustable, stainless steel InkPermanent, waterproof PackagingBlister (SB) EAN4260056150104 Questions and Answers What is the extended tip for? It reaches into a drilled hole, gap or behind a section where an ordinary marker cannot. What colour is it? Red ink. On Pica-Ink the body colour follows the ink colour. Does the mark rub off? No. The ink is permanent and waterproof. For a correctable mark use the graphite Pica-Dry range. How does it differ from article 150/40? Not at all in the tool - 150/40 is loose, 150/40/SB is on a blister. How many markers are in the pack? One. What will it write on? Metal, plastic, wood and stone, including smooth surfaces. Why does it stop writing? Usually a dried tip - a fine metal tip dries quickly if the cap is not closed tightly. ..

Bosch Deep Hole Marker Pencil, 1 600 A03 B64 The Bosch 1 600 A03 B64 mechanical pencil is made for marking where an ordinary pencil cannot reach: inside a finished hole, behind a pipe, in a narrow gap. The long tip, on a 5.7 mm shank, passes through a hole in a wall or in formwork and leaves a clear mark at the bottom of it. The pencil is 151 mm long overall. Body and lead The body is stainless steel - resistant to bending and to the damp that is normal on a building site. The lead is 2.8 mm in diameter with HB hardness, the general-purpose grade that writes dark enough on timber and plasterboard without snapping under pressure on a rough surface. Integrated sharpener A sharpener is built into the cap. On a tool for this job it is essential: a mark in a deep hole is only useful if the tip is sharp, and a 2.8 mm lead blunts quickly on concrete and render. The sharpener travels with the pencil, so sharpening needs no second tool. Replacement leads Bosch supplies replacement leads for this pencil in two versions - HB under part number 1 600 A03 AL4 and Multicolor (2 HB, 2 red, 2 yellow) under 1 600 A03 AL5. Both are 2.8 mm in diameter and 120 mm long. Applications Carrying a centre line through an existing hole, marking depth in a blind hole, marking behind pipes and cables, scribing in corners and gaps - the everyday tasks of an electrician, a plumber, a drylining fitter and a carpenter.Technical specifications BrandBosch Professional Part number1600 A03 B64 EAN4059952741253 TypeDeep hole marker pencil Lead diameter2.8 mm Lead hardnessHB Shank diameter5.7 mm Length151 mm Body materialStainless steel SharpenerIntegrated Replacement leads1 600 A03 AL4 (HB), 1 600 A03 AL5 (Multicolor) Pack quantity1 pc PackagingCardboard packaging, hanger, with Euro hole Questions and Answers What is a deep hole marker pencil for? The long, thin tip enters a drilled hole or a narrow gap and leaves a mark where an ordinary pencil cannot reach. It is typically used to carry a centre line through a wall and to mark depth in a blind hole. What lead does it take? A 2.8 mm lead. Bosch supplies replacements under 1 600 A03 AL4 (HB, 6 per pack) and 1 600 A03 AL5 (Multicolor: 2 HB, 2 red, 2 yellow, 6 per pack), both 120 mm long. Does it have a sharpener? Yes, the sharpener is built into the cap of the pencil and is sized for the 2.8 mm lead. What is the body made of? Stainless steel. That is an advantage on site - the body does not bend when carried in a work trouser pocket and does not rust in damp conditions. What is the overall length and shank diameter? 151 mm overall, with a 5.7 mm shank diameter. That determines the size of hole the tip can pass through. What does HB hardness mean, and does it suit every material? HB is the middle, general-purpose grade. It writes well on timber, plasterboard and paper. Very smooth or wet surfaces need special lead compounds, which Bosch does not offer for this pencil. Is it suitable for marking metal? Graphite does leave a mark on metal, but on an oily or mirror-smooth surface it rubs off easily. For durable scribing on metal use a scriber or a marking lead with a different compound. ..

Pica Powder Deep Hole Spray Marker, up to 25 cm, Blister, 2020/SB Pica Powder 2020/SB is a spray marker for point marking in deep holes - down to 25 cm (10 inches). One cartridge gives 1,500 marks. The marker is refillable and works without propellant. It is supplied in a blister pack with a euro hanging hole - which is what the SB suffix means. Powder, not ink This marker does not write - it shoots powder. A thin metal tube goes into the hole, you press, and a puff of coloured powder leaves the tip and lands as a dot at the bottom. That is where the reach comes from: an ink marker depends on the length of its tip, whereas powder travels as far as the tube does. No propellant The pack states it plainly: Ohne Treibgas / Without aerosol. The marker is not an aerosol: there is no pressurised gas, which brings three consequences - it can be carried and stored without dangerous-goods restrictions, it is unaffected by temperature, and it does not lose pressure standing unused. 25 centimetres 25 cm is a depth no pencil or ink marker reaches. The typical job is marking the structure behind a drilled hole - through insulation, cladding, a suspended ceiling or a cavity between two skins. At those thicknesses the alternative is opening the cladding up to see where to drill. 1,500 marks One cartridge lasts 1,500 shots. For scale, that is the order of a whole job - the marker does not run out halfway through. When the powder is spent, the cartridge is replaced, not the whole marker. The clip The body carries a pocket clip. On a tool used several times an hour and put down in between, that is practical: the marker rides on the trouser pocket rather than in a bag at the other end of the site. The blister The SB suffix in the article number means a self-service blister pack - card with a clear shell and a euro hole for hanging. The product is the same as the loose 2020 version; only the packaging differs. A thin metal tube enters the hole and a puff of coloured powder leaves the tip, landing as a dot at the bottom. Is it an aerosol? No. The pack states Without aerosol - there is no pressurised gas, so no restrictions on carriage or storage. How many marks does it make? 1,500 per cartridge. When the powder is spent, the cartridge is replaced, not the whole marker. How does it differ from article 2020? Only the packaging. The SB suffix means a self-service blister with a euro hole; the product inside is the same. What is it for?
