Bosch Eco for Wood Circular Saw Blade, 254 x 30 mm, 40 Teeth, 2608644383 Bosch 2608644383 is a circular saw blade for wood from the Eco for Wood range, 254 mm diameter with a 30 mm bore and 40 tungsten carbide tipped teeth. Kerf is 3.0 mm on a 2.0 mm body, and maximum speed is 6,000 rpm. Which machines it is for The blade is made for stationary corded circular saws - table saws and mitre saws with a 30 mm arbor. A 254 mm diameter at 6,000 rpm is the combination almost every machine of that class runs. What 40 teeth give you 40 teeth at 254 mm is the general-purpose count. Fewer teeth cut faster but rougher; more (80 or 100) give a cleaner finish but push harder and load the machine on rip cuts. With 40 you work along and across the grain without swapping blades for each operation. The teeth are ATB - alternate top bevel, each tooth ground to the opposite side of the one before it. That profile slices the wood fibres instead of pushing them, which is why a cross cut comes out without tear-out at the edge. Rake angle is 15°. The 3.0 mm kerf With a 2.0 mm body and a 3.0 mm cut, the tooth is a millimetre wider than the plate. That difference is why the blade does not bind in the cut: the sawn material cannot pinch the body from the sides. A narrow kerf has a second benefit - less material turned to dust and less work for the motor. The carbide tips The teeth carry brazed tungsten carbide tips. They are fully ground and selected so the blade keeps its edge for a long time. Carbide outlasts steel many times over in glued board, knots and the odd leftover nail - but it is also brittle: hitting metal chips a tip rather than dulling it. At 254 mm, 40 teeth is the general-purpose count. Fewer cut fast but rough; 80 or 100 give a cleaner finish but push harder on rip cuts. Forty works both ways. What does ATB mean? Alternate top bevel - each tooth is ground to the opposite side of the previous one. The profile slices the wood fibres instead of pushing them, so cross cuts come out without tear-out. Will it fit a hand-held circular saw? The blade is intended for stationary corded saws - table and mitre saws. Hand-held circular saws are usually smaller in diameter and use a different bore. What is the bore size? 30 mm - the European standard for stationary saws. Check your machine's arbor before buying, as reduction rings are not part of the blade. Why is the kerf 3.0 mm and the body 2.0 mm? The tooth is a millimetre wider than the plate so the blade does not bind in the cut - the sawn material cannot pinch the body. A narrow kerf also wastes less material as dust. Can it cut board with nails in it? Better not. Carbide tips last a long time in wood but are brittle - hitting metal chips a tip rather than dulling it. What is the maximum speed? 6,000 rpm. The figure is printed on the blade itself and must not be exceeded by the machine you fit it to. ..

Bosch EXPERT for Aluminium Circular Saw Blade 165 x 30 mm, 52 Teeth, 2608644096 Bosch EXPERT for Aluminium (article number 2 608 644 096) is a carbide-tipped circular saw blade for cutting aluminium and non-ferrous metals, measuring 165 mm in diameter with a 30 mm bore and 52 teeth. The kerf is 2.6 mm over a 1.6 mm plate, and maximum speed reaches 11,500 rpm. Why aluminium needs its own blade Aluminium is soft but sticky - as it is cut, the chip welds itself to the cutting edge instead of clearing. A wood blade taken to an aluminium section clogs within minutes, starts to vibrate and, in the worst case, grabs the workpiece and throws it. An aluminium blade answers that with three separate measures: tooth geometry, a negative hook angle and a coating. Negative -5° hook angle The hook angle on this blade is -5°, meaning the tooth leans back against the direction of rotation. With a positive hook the tooth digs in and self-feeds - desirable in timber, but in soft metal it leads to grabbing and pulling the workpiece off its support. A negative hook forces the blade to scrape in a controlled way rather than pull. The relief angle is 15°. HLTCG geometry The tooth form is HLTCG - a trapezoidal tooth followed by a flat one. The trapezoidal tooth goes first and cuts the groove, and the flat tooth behind it squares it out to full width. Splitting the work between two teeth reduces the load on each, and it is why the cut in aluminium comes out almost burr-free - the same geometry, for the same reason, is used on laminate and composite panels. Coating and anti-vibration slots The plate carries a protective coating serving two purposes: it prevents corrosion and reduces friction against the walls of the kerf, which directly reduces aluminium build-up. The body is also cut with anti-vibration slots - at 11,500 rpm in soft material, vibration is the main source of both a rough edge and noise. Microteq carbide The tips are fine-grain Microteq carbide, produced in-house by Bosch. Fine grain allows a sharper cutting edge that holds for longer; with non-ferrous metals that matters directly, because a blunt tooth stops cutting and begins mashing and welding the chip instead. Working with the blade The section must be firmly clamped - an unsupported workpiece is dangerous when cutting aluminium. Use a cutting lubricant for aluminium (wax or a dedicated paste): it reduces chip adhesion more than any other single measure. Feed steadily and do not force. Wear eye protection - aluminium swarf is sharp, light and travels far. Confirm your machine's speed does not exceed 11,500 rpm and that the 30 mm bore matches its arbor. Technical specifications ManufacturerBosch RangeEXPERT for Aluminium Article number2 608 644 096 Diameter165 mm Bore30 mm Kerf2.6 mm Plate thickness1.6 mm Tooth count52 Tooth formHLTCG Hook angle-5° (negative) Relief angle15° CarbideMicroteq, fine grain Maximum speed11,500 rpm CoatingProtective, anti-corrosion and friction-reducing FeaturesAnti-vibration slots MaterialsAluminium and non-ferrous metals OriginItaly Questions and Answers Can I cut aluminium with a wood blade? It is not a good idea. A wood blade has a positive hook angle and in soft metal it grabs the workpiece and pulls it off its support. Aluminium swarf also welds itself to the teeth, and the blade clogs within minutes. What does a negative hook angle mean? The tooth leans back against the direction of rotation - on this blade by -5°. The blade then scrapes in a controlled way instead of self-feeding and dragging the workpiece. That is what makes cutting soft metal safe. What is HLTCG geometry? Alternating trapezoidal and flat teeth. The trapezoidal tooth cuts the groove and the flat tooth behind it squares it out to full width. Splitting the work between the two reduces the load and gives a nearly burr-free cut. Is a lubricant needed? Strongly recommended. Wax or a cutting paste for aluminium reduces chip adhesion more than any other measure and extends blade life. Without it the gullets fill with aluminium and the cutting edge stops working. Will it fit my machine? The blade is 165 mm with a 30 mm bore. Check your machine's arbor - a 20 mm or 16 mm spindle needs a reducing ring. Machine speed must not exceed 11,500 rpm. Does it cut metals other than aluminium? The blade is intended for aluminium and non-ferrous metals - copper, brass and similar. Steel and stainless need a blade made specifically for ferrous metals; those cut with a different geometry and at considerably lower speeds. What precautions are needed? Eye protection is essential - aluminium swarf is sharp, light and travels far. The section must be firmly clamped; an unsecured workpiece is dangerous when cutting metal regardless of the blade's geome..

Bosch EXPERT for Wood Circular Saw Blade 254 x 30 mm, 60 Teeth, 2608642530 Bosch EXPERT for Wood (article number 2 608 642 530) is a carbide-tipped circular saw blade measuring 254 mm in diameter with a 30 mm bore and 60 teeth. The kerf is 2.4 mm over a 1.8 mm plate, and maximum speed is 7,500 rpm. The blade is intended for table saws and mitre saws, cutting both softwood and hardwood. 60 teeth at 254 mm - what kind of cut that is Tooth count sets the trade-off between speed and cut quality. A 24-40 tooth blade cuts fast but leaves a ragged edge; 60 teeth at 254 mm sits in the range for a clean crosscut - where the edge stays visible and gets no further finishing. In practice this is the mitre saw blade: skirting, joinery, mouldings, frames and anything where the cut face is the finished surface. Microteq teeth The tips are Microteq carbide, produced in-house by Bosch from extremely fine carbide grains. Grain size determines two things at once: how sharp the cutting edge can be made and how long it holds that edge. Fine grain gives a sharper, more stable edge, which in timber shows up as less fibre tear-out on the underside of the cut. ATB geometry The teeth use an alternate top bevel (ATB) - each successive tooth ground the opposite way. The point severs the wood fibres from the side rather than pushing them forward, and that is precisely what protects the lower edge from splintering. This is why ATB is the standard geometry for crosscutting. 30 mm bore - check before ordering The bore is 30 mm, the standard for European table and mitre saws. If your machine has a 25.4 mm or 16 mm arbor you need a reducing ring, not a blade forced onto the spindle. Also check your machine's maximum speed: it must not exceed 7,500 rpm. Getting a clean cut Even the best blade splinters the underside if the workpiece has no backing. On a mitre saw use a sacrificial fence board; on a table saw, a zero-clearance insert. Feed the work steadily: too slow and the teeth heat up and burn the cut, too fast and the tips are overloaded. The blade must be clean - accumulated resin increases friction and is the most common reason a perfectly good blade starts scorching timber. Maintenance Remove resin with a dedicated cleaner or a degreaser, never with an abrasive - that damages the coating and dulls the cutting edge. A blunt blade announces itself with burn marks on the cut, increased feed effort, and a change in the sound of the machine. Carbide blades of this class can be resharpened by a specialist many times over, which costs far less than a new blade. Technical specifications ManufacturerBosch RangeEXPERT for Wood Article number2 608 642 530 Diameter254 mm Bore30 mm Kerf2.4 mm Plate thickness1.8 mm Tooth count60 Tooth formATB, alternate top bevel CarbideMicroteq, fine grain Maximum speed7,500 rpm MaterialsSoftwood and hardwood MachinesTable saws and mitre saws OriginItaly Questions and Answers What work suits 60 teeth? Clean crosscutting - skirting, joinery, mouldings, frames, anywhere the cut face stays visible. Blades with 24-40 teeth cut faster but leave a coarser edge and belong to ripping and rough breakdown work. Will it fit my machine? The blade is 254 mm with a 30 mm bore - the standard for European table and mitre saws. A 25.4 mm or 16 mm arbor needs a reducing ring. Also confirm your machine does not exceed 7,500 rpm. What does ATB mean? Alternate Top Bevel - each successive tooth is bevelled the opposite way. The point severs fibres from the side rather than pushing them forward, protecting the underside of the workpiece from splintering. It is the standard geometry for crosscutting wood. Why are two thicknesses quoted - 2.4 and 1.8 mm? 2.4 mm is the kerf, set by the carbide tips, while 1.8 mm is the thickness of the blade plate itself. The plate is thinner so it does not rub the walls of the cut - which means less heat and less load on the motor. Why is the cut coming out burnt? Usually resin build-up on the blade or too slow a feed. Both increase friction. Clean the blade with a dedicated cleaner or degreaser and feed the work steadily. Burning is also a sign the blade has gone blunt. How do I avoid splintering the underside? Use backing - a sacrificial fence board on a mitre saw or a zero-clearance insert on a table saw. The blade cuts downwards, and with nothing supporting the fibres below they tear free no matter how sharp it is. Can the blade be resharpened? Yes - carbide blades of this class can be resharpened by a specialist many times over, at considerably less than the cost of a new blade. Do not use abrasives to clean it: they damage the coating and dull the cutting edge. ..

Bosch EXPERT Wood Circular Saw Blade 165 x 20 mm, 48 Teeth, 2608902218 Bosch EXPERT Wood (article number 2 608 902 218) is a carbide-tipped circular saw blade for wood, 165 mm in diameter with a 20 mm bore and 48 teeth. The kerf is 1.8 mm over a 1.3 mm plate and maximum speed is 11,500 rpm. The blade is intended for hand-held and plunge saws. The standard 165 mm blade At 165 mm with a 20 mm bore this is the standard choice for a mid-range hand-held circular saw. The kerf is 1.8 mm - heavier than the cordless variants and therefore more resistant to side load. If you cut long edges along a guide rail, or work with a mains machine, the thicker plate holds its line more steadily. 48 teeth - for a clean cut At 165 mm, 48 teeth falls in the range for a clean crosscut. Blades with fewer teeth cut faster but leave a coarser edge and suit rough breakdown work; blades with more give an even smoother cut but heat up in thicker material. Forty-eight is the balance at which one blade does both jobs decently. Geometry and carbide The teeth use an alternate top bevel (ATB): each successive tooth is ground the opposite way and severs the fibres from the side rather than pushing them forward. That is what protects the underside of the workpiece from splintering. The hook angle is 10° and maximum speed reaches 11,500 rpm - the highest in this group of blades. The tips are tungsten carbide, which holds a keen edge many times longer than hardened steel and tolerates higher temperatures without softening. Materials The blade cuts softwood and hardwood as well as boards - chipboard, plywood, MDF and laminated panels. On laminate, backing under the workpiece matters especially, because the surface chips far more readily than solid timber. Mounting and speed Confirm your machine's arbor is 20 mm - any other size needs a reducing ring, not a blade forced onto the spindle. Machine speed must not exceed 11,500 rpm. Match the direction of rotation to the arrow on the blade as well - fitted backwards, a blade does not cut but crushes and overheats. Getting a clean cut Use backing under the workpiece: a sacrificial board or a zero-clearance insert. With nothing supporting the fibres below, they tear free no matter how sharp the blade. Bosch Optiline Wood Circular Saw Blade 216 x 30 mm, 48 Teeth, 2608640641 Bosch Optiline Wood (article number 2 608 640 641) is a carbide-tipped circular saw blade for wood, 216 mm in diameter with a 30 mm bore and 48 teeth. The kerf is 2.8 mm and maximum speed is 7,000 rpm. The blade is intended for mitre saws and table saws. 216 mm - the compact mitre saw size 216 mm with a 30 mm bore is the standard on compact mitre saws. The blade gives enough width of cut for skirting, mouldings and joinery, and the lower maximum speed reflects the larger diameter: at the same rpm, a bigger blade has a considerably higher rim speed. 48 teeth - for a clean cut At 216 mm, 48 teeth falls in the range for a clean crosscut. Speed is limited to 7,000 rpm - lower because of the larger diameter, at which rim speed rises quickly. Mounting and speed Confirm your machine's arbor is 30 mm - any other size needs a reducing ring, not a blade forced onto the spindle. Machine speed must not exceed 7,000 rpm. Feed steadily - too slow and the teeth heat up and burn the cut, too fast and the tips are overloaded. Remove resin with a dedicated cleaner or degreaser, never with an abrasive, which damages the coating and dulls the cutting edge. The blade is 216 mm with a 30 mm bore. Any other arbor size needs a reducing ring. Check that your machine does not exceed 7,000 rpm, and match the direction of rotation to the arrow on the blade. What work suits 48 teeth? Clean crosscutting. At 216 mm, fewer teeth cut faster but leave a coarser edge and suit rough breakdown work; more teeth give a smoother cut but heat up in thicker material. What does ATB mean? Alternate Top Bevel - each successive tooth is bevelled the opposite way. The point severs fibres from the side rather than pushing them forward, protecting the underside of the workpiece from splintering. It is the standard geometry for crosscutting wood. What does a 2.8 mm kerf mean? It is how much material the blade removes on every cut. A heavier kerf resists side load better and holds its line, but removes more material and loads the motor harder. Does it cut chipboard, MDF and laminate? Yes - the blade is rated for softwood and hardwood and for boards. On laminate, backing under the workpiece matters especially, because the surface chips far more readily than solid timber. Why is the cut coming out burnt? Usually resin build-up on the blade or too slow a feed - both increase friction. Clean the blade with a dedicated cleaner or degreaser, never with an abrasive. Burning is also a sign the blade has gone blunt. Can the blade be resharpened? Yes - carbide blades can be resharpened by a specialist many times over, at considerably less than the cost of a new blade. What matters is that the sharpening machine preserves the original tooth angles. ..

Bosch PRO Stainless Steel and Metal Cutting Discs, 125 x 1 mm, X-LOCK, 10 Pieces, 2608619267 Bosch 2608619267 is a pack of 10 cutting discs for stainless steel and metal, 125 x 1 x 22.23 mm, with an X-LOCK fitting and a straight profile. Bosch states up to 1.5 times the life of the standard metal disc 2608619767. The 1 mm thickness 1 mm is the thin disc. The difference against a standard 2.5 mm is not only speed: Less material is removed - less work for the machine and a faster cut at the same power. Less heat into the workpiece. On stainless steel that is decisive: overheating burns off the chromium oxide layer that makes it stainless, and the cut starts rusting within weeks. A narrower kerf - noticeable when cutting section or tube to a measured length. The trade-off is that a thin disc is more fragile. It cuts in a straight line only, with no side loading - twisting the grinder in the cut breaks it. Made for stainless steel The discs contain less than 0.1% iron, sulphur and chlorine (Fe/S/Cl). This is not a box-ticking spec: residual iron particles from an ordinary disc embed in the cut and then rust on top of the stainless steel, leaving brown speckles across the surface. Low-Fe discs do not have that problem. Construction Aluminium oxide grain gives cutting durability, a resin matrix holds the grain and takes the heat, and a strong fibreglass net reinforces the disc. The specification is WA 60 T BF, maximum speed 12,250 rpm at a peripheral speed of 80 m/s. X-LOCK X-LOCK is the tool-free disc change system: the disc clicks into place and releases with a lever. An important detail - X-LOCK discs also work on conventional grinders with an M14 threaded spindle and nut, because the bore is the standard 22.23 mm. The reverse is not true: a conventional disc will not lock into an X-LOCK machine. Making them last A thin disc is used up in two ways - work and misuse - and the second is far quicker. Three rules cover almost everything. First: do not push. The disc has its own cutting rate and more pressure does not raise it - it only heats the disc and wears it faster. The right sign is a steady, even spray of sparks, not one thrown a metre across the shop. Second: cut in a straight line only. Guide the grinder along the axis of the cut; any twist loads the disc sideways, and it is 1 mm thick - that is what breaks discs, not the cutting itself. Third: do not stop halfway through a deep cut. On re-entry the disc rarely lands exactly in the old kerf and catches on its wall. Better to take the section in one pass, or to open the entry slightly first. Do they work on a conventional grinder? Yes. The bore is the standard 22.23 mm, so the discs mount with a nut on an M14 spindle. The reverse is not true - a conventional disc will not lock into an X-LOCK machine. Why specifically for stainless steel? Because of the below 0.1% Fe/S/Cl content. Iron particles from an ordinary disc embed in the cut and then rust, leaving brown speckles on the stainless surface. What does 1 mm thickness give you? A faster cut, a narrower kerf and, most importantly, less heat in the workpiece. On stainless, overheating burns off the chromium oxide layer and the cut starts to rust. Can they be used for grinding? Absolutely not. At 1 mm these are cutting discs only - side loading from grinding breaks them. Even twisting the machine in the cut is enough. What is the maximum speed? 12,250 rpm at a peripheral speed of 80 m/s. The figure is printed on the disc and must not be exceeded by the machine. Do they cut mild steel too? Yes - the range is for stainless steel and metal. In mild steel the disc works just as well; the low iron content simply makes no difference there. ..
