Pica BIG Dry Longlife Construction Marker - 6060

Pica BIG Dry 6060 is an automatic construction pencil that the manufacturer presents as "the carpenter's pencil for professionals". It is a hard-wearing, robust marker built for tough demands. Its leads have a rectangular 2 x 5 mm profile and are 150 mm long, and the lead is fed at the push of a button. The pencil comes loaded with a For All 2B universal graphite lead.

Push mechanism instead of whittling wood

The unique high-tech push mechanism feeds the lead automatically. In its earlier product sheet Pica sums up the advantage like this: no more removing wood to sharpen the pencil - just one push. The leads are easy to exchange and are inserted into the pencil from the rear.

Lead sharpener and precise edge guidance

The BIG Dry has an integrated lead sharpener for marking with millimetre precision. The rectangular 2 x 5 mm leads allow precise edge guidance when marking and, according to the manufacturer, a very long marking capacity. Pica also lists a hexagon bit holder among the features.

Holster with clip and dust and moisture protection

The pencil is carried in a quiver-style holster with an extra-strong special clip that allows one-hand operation. The manufacturer states maximum protection against dust and moisture and a long service life thanks to high-quality engineering and refillability.

Where it works best

With the For All 2B lead the manufacturer rates the pencil ideal (3 stars) for metal, processed wood, dry and wet raw wood, plastic, tiles and ceramics; suitable (2 stars) for stone and concrete; and acceptable (1 star) for rubber, glass and leather. Refills for the BIG Dry

For different jobs Pica offers For All 2B leads (6030, 6031, 6032, 6045), leads for wet cutting of tiles and stone (6040), carpenter 2H (6050), stonemason 10H (6055), Aniline 2.0 for wet wood (6051) and summer leads up to 70 °C (6071) - all in packs of 12, 150 mm long.
