Milwaukee Inner-Outer Pipe Deburrer 6-35 mm, 4932493812
Milwaukee article number 4932493812 is a hand reamer for internal and external deburring of pipes from 6 to 35 mm in diameter. It carries 40 hardened and ground cutting edges in an aluminium housing with external ridges for grip.
Why deburring is not cosmetic
After a pipe is cut - with a cutter, a hacksaw or an angle grinder - a burr is left on the inside and the outside of the cut. Each causes a specific problem. The internal burr restricts the bore, creates turbulence and collects deposits - on a water main that means lost flow, and on a heating system, noise as well. The external burr matters even more: on press and push-fit joints it cuts or rolls the O-ring as the pipe goes in, and that is the classic cause of a leak which appears weeks later.
Two functions in one tool
The tool works both ways: one end removes the internal burr and forms an inner chamfer, the other dresses the outer edge. On press systems the external chamfer is arguably the more important - it guides the pipe through the seal instead of letting the pipe scrape it. The operation takes seconds and is done by hand, with no tool and no machine.
Forty cutting edges
The forty hardened and ground edges spread the work and produce an even chamfer rather than a chattered one. The high count has a second consequence: as some edges wear, others keep cutting, which extends the tool's working life. Grinding after hardening is what makes the edges cut rather than smear soft material.
Materials
The reamer works on plastic, copper, aluminium, steel, iron, brass and stainless steel. That covers practically the whole range found in plumbing and heating - from polypropylene and multilayer pipe through copper to stainless systems for gas and fire suppression.
Ridged aluminium housing
The housing is aluminium - it survives being dropped on site, unlike plastic reamers. The external ridges have a specific purpose: to let the tool be turned securely with gloves on and with wet or oily hands. In plumbing work that is the normal state of your hands, not the exception.
How to use it
After cutting, insert the pipe into the appropriate end and turn it a few times under light pressure. Do not force it - the aim is to remove the burr and form a light chamfer, not to thin the pipe wall. Afterwards, wipe the swarf away: left inside the system it blocks aerators, filters and valves just as reliably as any other foreign body.

Questions and Answers
Why does the burr have to be removed after cutting?
The internal burr restricts the bore, creates turbulence and collects deposits. The external burr matters more: on press and push-fit joints it cuts or rolls the O-ring as the pipe is inserted - the classic cause of a leak that shows up weeks later.
What diameters does it cover?
Pipes from 6 to 35 mm, which covers the great majority of plumbing and heating installations in housing.
Which materials does it work on?
Plastic, copper, aluminium, steel, iron, brass and stainless steel - from polypropylene and multilayer pipe through copper to stainless systems.
Does it deburr inside and outside?
The tool does both: one end removes the internal burr and forms an inner chamfer, the other dresses the outer edge. On press systems the external chamfer is the more important - it guides the pipe through the seal.
Does it need a machine or a driver?
No - the tool is turned by hand. Insert the pipe into the appropriate end and turn it a few times under light pressure. The operation takes seconds.
Why is the housing ridged?
So it can be turned securely wearing gloves and with wet or oily hands. In plumbing work that is the normal state of your hands. The aluminium housing also survives being dropped on site, unlike plastic reamers.
Is there anything to watch out for afterwards?
Yes - wipe the swarf off the pipe. Left inside the system it blocks aerators, filters and valves, and finding it after the installation is commissioned is far harder than wiping it off at the time.

Milwaukee 4932499021 Long Cut Straight Tin Snips, 310 mm
Milwaukee 4932499021 are tin snips with extended jaws for straight cutting, 310 mm overall. The blades are forged alloy steel with a hard chrome plating.
Why extended jaws
Standard aviation snips cut in a short stroke - you open and close for every centimetre. With extended jaws a single squeeze covers noticeably more distance, which on a long straight cut means fewer strokes and less fatigue in the hand. The second benefit matters more: fewer stops means fewer stop marks - the edge comes out smoother instead of nibbled every centimetre.
Straight cut
These snips are for straight cuts and wide curves. They are not for cutting circles or tight turns - that is what left and right models with sideways-offset jaws are for. If your work is shortening a sheet or cutting a strip to length, the long straight snip is exactly the tool.
Blades and plating
The cutting edges are serrated so the sheet does not slip out under pressure - without serrations thin sheet runs forward and the cut wanders. The material is forged alloy steel, and the hard chrome plating is primarily corrosion protection. Tin snips live in a bag with damp material and swarf, and rust on the cutting edge kills them faster than wear.
Mechanism and bolt
The lock is one-handed - you open and close the snips without letting go of the sheet. The bolt has a flush design: it does not protrude and will not hang up on the material as you run the snips down a long cut.
Safety
The edge left after cutting sheet metal is razor sharp. Work in gloves and eye protection - the offcut strip curls and springs back.

Questions and Answers
What do the extended jaws give you?
A single squeeze covers more distance - fewer strokes and less fatigue on a long cut. More importantly, fewer stops leave a smoother edge instead of one nibbled every centimetre.
Can they cut circles?
Not what they are for. These are for straight cuts and wide curves. Circles and tight turns need left and right models, whose jaws are offset sideways.
Why are the blades serrated?
So the sheet does not slip under pressure. Without serrations thin sheet runs forward and the cut wanders off the line.
Will the blades rust?
The blades are hard chrome plated against exactly that. Snips live in a bag with damp material and swarf, and rust on the cutting edge kills them faster than wear does.
How does the lock work?
It is one-handed - you open and close the snips without letting go of the sheet, which when working at height is the difference between convenient and dangerous.
Why is the bolt flush?
So it will not hang up on the material as you run the snips down a long cut. A protruding bolt stops the stroke exactly where you wanted to carry on smoothly.
Are gloves needed?
Yes. The edge left after cutting sheet metal is razor sharp, and the offcut strip curls and springs back. Gloves and eye protection are not optional extras here.

Milwaukee Long Reach Pliers, 45° angled Nose, 326 mm, 4932492498
Milwaukee article number 4932492498 are long reach pliers with a 45° angled nose and an overall length of 326 mm. The tool is designed to reach places ordinary pliers cannot - behind partitions, into narrow openings, and deep inside cabinets and panels.
The 45° nose - for reaching round a corner
A nose bent at 45° answers the case where the target is not on the same axis as your hand: something dropped behind a partition, a cable behind a fitted panel, a nut set sideways in a recess. Straight pliers simply cannot get in there, because your wrist would have to rotate into the wall.
Cross handles
The handles are crossed (deep-reach cross handles) - the jaws close when the handles are opened, the reverse of ordinary pliers. The reason is geometric: with a crossed layout the pivot sits further back, so the whole front of the tool can be slimmer without losing jaw travel. That is exactly what lets a 33-centimetre tool enter an opening your fist will not.
One joint, not two
These are single-joint pliers. A double joint gives more force for the same squeeze, but at the cost of feel in the hand: the movement is vaguer and it is hard to judge how firmly the workpiece is held. Working blind - and long reach pliers are used exactly that way - control matters more than force, which is why a single joint is used here.
Gripping zones along the jaw
The jaws carry several gripping zones with different profiles - for screws, for cables and for round parts. The nose is serrated, which holds the work when you twist: a smooth nose slips at exactly the moment torque is applied, and a part dropped somewhere deep is rarely recovered on the second attempt.
Typical applications
Electrical work in boxes and panels, pulling cable, work under a vehicle and in an engine bay, retrieving dropped screws and nuts from deep places, installation inside cabinets and above suspended ceilings, and machine work through inspection openings - anywhere access, not force, is the constraint.
Warranty
Milwaukee gives a lifetime warranty on hand tools in this range. On pliers that has a specific meaning: the pivot and the jaws are what wear after years of use, and neither can be repaired.

Questions and Answers
What are long reach pliers for?
Reaching places ordinary pliers cannot - behind partitions, into narrow openings, deep inside cabinets and panels. The 326 mm overall length gives reach while your hand stays outside the confined space.
What is the difference between a straight and a 45° nose?
A straight nose is for access in a straight line - when your hand and the target share an axis. A 45° nose is for targets round a corner, where straight pliers cannot get in because your wrist would have to rotate into the wall.
Why do the handles work in reverse?
These have cross handles: the jaws close as the handles open. That puts the pivot further back and makes the front of the tool slimmer - which is what lets a long tool enter a narrow opening.
Is a single or double joint better?
A double joint gives more force but a vaguer feel in the hand. Working blind - and long reach pliers are used exactly that way - control matters more than force, which is why a single joint is used.

A smooth nose slips at exactly the moment you apply twist. A serrated nose holds the work while turning - and a part dropped somewhere deep is rarely recovered on the second attempt.

Straight nose - for direct access
The straight nose is the version for access in a straight line: into a pipe, a channel, a hole in a cabinet, behind a panel. When your hand and the target are on the same axis, a straight nose keeps the feel of ordinary pliers, just with 33 centimetres more reach.
Cross handles
The handles are crossed (deep-reach cross handles) - the jaws close when the handles are opened, the reverse of ordinary pliers.
