Bosch PRO Impact Double-Ended Bit, T30, 65 mm, Pick and Click

Bosch 2 608 522 542 is one double-ended impact bit from the PRO Impact range, size T30 at both ends, 65 mm long, on the Pick and Click system. The T30 marking is laser-etched at both ends of the bit itself.

Double-ended - why it matters

The bit has working tips at both ends. When one wears out, turn the bit round and carry on with the other. In practice that doubles the life of a bit. With an impact driver, wear comes fast - the tip takes thousands of blows a minute - so the difference shows within a single job.

Steel made for impact

PRO Impact bits are made from modified steel intended for impact drivers. An ordinary bit is hard and brittle: under impact it simply shatters at the tip. An impact bit is tougher and has a narrowed section in the middle that absorbs the twist like a torsion spring instead of passing it to the tip.

Pick and Click

Pick and Click is Bosch's system of boxes with sized holes: every bit sits in its own slot with the size printed beside it. The point is not having to hunt for the right size in a pocket - on site that is the time most often lost while driving screws.

The laser marking

The size is laser-etched, not printed. Print rubs off within a week in a tool bag; laser marking stays readable for the life of the bit. In a box of fifteen bits of different sizes that matters more than it sounds.

T30 - which screws

T30 is a Torx size found on structural timber screws, ironmongery, furniture connectors and decking screws. A Torx head does not cam out the way a Phillips does, which with an impact driver is essential - a bit that slips destroys the head in a fraction of a second.

Compatibility

The shank is 1/4 inch hex - the standard on drivers, impact drivers and bit holders.
