The STANLEY STST1-70713 is a set of two folding sawhorses with a capacity of up to 450 kg when used as a pair. The two open out in seconds and make a makeshift bench for cutting, assembly or staging material.

Light and quick to set up

The pair weighs 6.4 kg in total - about half the weight of metal telescopic sawhorses. That is the whole point of this model: it carries one-handed, opens with no adjustment and packs away just as fast when the job is done.

Holding the workpiece

The top has a lengthwise groove that beams, battens and pipes drop into so they do not roll while being cut. Lower down the legs sits a tool shelf, and anti-slip rubber feet hold the sawhorse in place on a smooth floor.

Dimensions

Folded, each sawhorse is 69 x 11 x 81 cm and stores flat behind a door or in a car boot. Open, it measures 690 mm wide, 370 mm deep and 795 mm high - the usual working height for cutting while standing.

Material

Legs and top working section are plastic, which is what keeps the weight down. At up to 450 kg for the pair that is ample for timber, plasterboard, laminate and panels. For heavy steel sections and uneven ground, metal sawhorses with telescopic legs are the better choice.

Applications

The two sawhorses are used for cutting timber and boards, for fitting doors and window frames, for decorating work and for staging material temporarily on site. They also combine with a work top when a larger continuous surface is needed.
