Milwaukee M12 BLDDRC-402C Cordless Drill Driver, 12V, 40 Nm

The M12 BLDDRC-402C is a compact brushless drill driver with a chuck, supplied as a complete kit: the tool, two M12 B4 4.0 Ah batteries, a C12 C charger and a case. Maximum torque is 40 Nm and length only 137 mm.

Two speeds and 13 settings

First gear runs to 450 rpm and delivers torque - for driving large screws and drilling metal. Second reaches 1,550 rpm and is for fast driving and drilling wood. The mechanical clutch has 13 torque settings, so the tool stops turning at the chosen setting rather than pulling the screw through the material.

What it drills

The chuck is 10 mm. In steel the tool drills to 10 mm, in wood and aluminium to 40 mm, with a hole saw in wood to 40 mm and with a self-feed bit to 32 mm. It drives wood screws up to 6 x 125 mm.

The 4.0 Ah batteries

The kit comes with two 4.0 Ah packs - twice the usual 2.0 Ah in kits of this class. That means longer work per charge and fewer swaps, at the cost of a little more weight in the hand. The tool has a fuel gauge and an LED light.
