Bosch GDS 18V-1400 Cordless Impact Wrench, 18V, 1400 Nm

The GDS 18V-1400 is a Heavy Duty class cordless impact wrench with a brushless motor. Maximum tightening torque is 1400 Nm, while in loosening the tool reaches 2200 Nm - the difference matters, because a rusted or primer-covered nut takes more than the torque it was tightened to.

Three power settings

Torque is capped at three levels - 300, 800 and 1400 Nm - each with its own speed and impact rate: 0-700 min^-1 at 0-1400 ipm, 0-1100 min^-1 at 0-2100 ipm and 0-2000 min^-1 at 0-2400 ipm. That lets a sensitive joint be tightened on the first setting without reaching for a torque wrench on every nut, and a seized joint be broken on the third.

Weight and vibration

Weight without the battery is 3 kg. The stated vibration emission value is ah = 15 m/s² at an uncertainty of K = 1.5 m/s². Over a long shift that figure enters the exposure-time calculation - an impact wrench in this class is not a tool for a full day of continuous work without breaks.
