The STANLEY 1-20-600 is a mitre box with a clamping system, supplied by the manufacturer together with a tenon saw. The set gives an accurate angled cut by hand - no machine, no power - and is the classic answer for skirting, moulding and thin profiles.

Angle guides

The box has guides for 90°, 45° and 22.5°, plus slots for 45° scarf cuts when joining two lengths end to end. The slots guide the saw blade over its full depth, which keeps the cut square and stops it wandering.

Cam lock clamping

The cam lock clamping system presses the workpiece against the wall of the box in one movement. That is the difference from a plain mitre box: the workpiece does not shift while sawing, the angle holds, and no third hand is required.

Construction

The box is one-piece injection moulded, so there are no joints to work loose. It has slip-resistant feet and fixing holes for bolting to a bench when fully steady work is needed. Foldable legs let the box sit flat on a table or the floor, or butt up neatly against a corner.

Storage compartments

The body carries integrated storage compartments for chocks and a pencil. It is a small but practical touch that keeps the marking pencil and the packing pieces to hand instead of on the floor before every cut.
