Pencil Quiver with Sharpening Blade - Pica Pocket, with Pica Classic 540 Carpenter Pencil, 24 cm, 505/01

Pica Pocket with Pica Classic 540 Carpenter Pencil - 505/01

Pica Pocket 505/01 is a bundle of a pencil holster with a built-in sharpening blade and one free Pica Classic 540 carpenter pencil, 24 cm long. The manufacturer describes the Pocket as holster and sharpener in one: an extremely robust holder that fits all shapes of thick wooden pencils and keeps the pencil at hand in a trouser pocket - right down to the last stub. The bundle comes in a blister pack.

A robust holster for thick wooden pencils

The holster is 195 mm long and, according to the manufacturer, extremely robust. It takes all thick wooden pencils - with an oval, flat oval, Black Edge, triangular or hexagonal cross-section - of any length. The built-in clamping function fixes the pencil in the holster, and the clip with extra reinforcement gives a permanent hold on a pocket. The pencil can be used right down to the smallest stub.

Carbon steel blade with a safety bar

A carbon steel blade is built into the holster, which the manufacturer describes as sharp as a razor. Next to it sits a safety bar: much like a potato peeler it limits the cutting depth, so sharpening is quick and precise and the fingers are protected from injury. The pencil is sharpened with the same tool it is carried in.

The Pica Classic 540 carpenter pencil

Pica Classic 540 is an oval carpenter pencil which the manufacturer describes as being of the highest professional quality. The wood comes from sustainably managed forests and is easy to sharpen, while the 2H graphite lead gives rich strokes and has high break resistance. Pica lists the pencil as suitable for wood, stone, brick, concrete and metal. The bundle contains the 24 cm version; on its own the manufacturer offers the Classic 540 in 24 and 30 cm lengths.

Other Pocket bundles

Besides the carpenter's pencil bundle (505/01), the manufacturer offers the Pocket with a stonemason pencil (505/02), a Black & White pencil (505/03) and a For All universal pencil (505/04), and on its own as article 505. When the pencil from the bundle is used up, any other thick wooden pencil fits in the holster.
