Pica Dry Carpenter Refill Leads, Hardness H, 10 pcs - 4050

Pica 4050 is a set of 10 graphite refill leads in special hardness H for the Pica Dry automatic construction pencil. The manufacturer calls them carpenter refills (in its older material - leads for joiners) and recommends them for precise, fine markings, particularly when working with wood. Each lead is 2.8 mm in diameter and 125 mm long.

For the Pica Dry pencil

The leads are refills for the Pica Dry Longlife Automatic Pencil (article 3030) - Pica's professional automatic pencil for construction markings. It takes leads with a minimum diameter of 2.8 mm and a length of 125 mm, has a push mechanism that feeds the lead through a stainless steel tube, and a holster with an integrated sharpener. The leads are loaded from behind.

Hardness H - for fine lines

The standard lead of the Pica Dry is the universal 2B graphite. The H lead is harder and, according to Pica, enables fine markings on dry surfaces. This is why the manufacturer recommends it for precise marking out, especially on wood. Pica also states that markings made with these leads cannot be wiped off.

Surfaces and limitations

For the 4050 leads Pica lists wood, plastic and metal as suitable surfaces. The manufacturer specifies that they are for dry surfaces and cannot be used on glass-smooth, shiny surfaces. For wet or glossy materials Pica offers other leads from the Pica Dry range.

How to change the lead

According to Pica's instructions for the Pica Dry, first pull off the push button at the top of the pencil and slide the new lead in from the back. Then push the button firmly back on and press it several times in a row until the lead appears at the tip - the pencil is then ready to use.

Packaging

The ten leads come in a transparent plastic box with a pull-open lid (PULL), printed with article number 4050 and "For joiners - Graphite leads hardness H". Pica also offers the same set in a hangable self-service pack (4050/SB).
