The DeWalt DCLE34035D1 is a cordless line laser level that projects three full 360° lines - one horizontal and two vertical. A green beam reads several times brighter to the human eye than a red one of the same output, which makes the tool suitable for interior layout under working light without needing to darken the room.

Three planes at once

The three planes intersect to form a reference system covering the whole room - floor, walls and ceiling simultaneously. That saves repositioning and re-levelling when installing partitions, suspended ceilings, plasterboard track, electrical runs and tiling. Each line can be switched on independently when only one plane is needed.

Remote control

The laser is also operated from a remote control, which allows fine horizontal adjustment of the projection without the operator walking back to the unit. Working alone in a large room this changes the pace noticeably - the line is trimmed from where the work is happening.

Accuracy, range and protection

Accuracy is ± 3 mm at 10 metres. Working range reaches around 80 metres without a detector and up to 100 metres with one. The body carries an overmoulded rubber shell and an IP54 rating against dust and splashing water - enough for normal site conditions. An integrated magnetic pivoting base grips metal surfaces and track.

Who it is for

The tool is aimed at drylining installers, electricians, plumbers, tilers and fit-out crews who set out whole rooms. The self-levelling mechanism settles on its own within its working range and signals if the unit is placed outside it, so an error from a sloping base is caught immediately.

Power and contents

The unit runs on a DeWalt 2.0 Ah battery from the 18 V XR platform (marketed in the US as 20V MAX - the same packs, quoted at nominal and at maximum voltage). One charge lasts up to 9 hours. The kit contains the laser, the remote, the battery, a charger, a ceiling bracket, a target card and a hard case.
