USB-C charging
This is the practical difference from conventional models with a removable pack. The level charges from the same cable and adapter as a phone or laptop - from a socket, a power bank or the van. 80 % charge takes 30 minutes, and a full charge lasts at least 8 hours, covering a whole working day.
Accuracy and range
Accuracy is ± 3 mm at 10 metres. The green lines are visible to the naked eye at around 30 metres, and with a DW0892G detector (sold separately) the working range extends to about 80 metres. A green beam reads considerably better than red under working light.
Mounting and adjustment
The tool has a pivoting bracket, integrated rare-earth magnets for gripping steel track and scaffolding, and 1/4" and 5/8" threads for mounting on a standard tripod. A fine adjustment knob allows the line to be aligned precisely to a mark without moving the whole body of the tool.
Self-levelling
The tool levels itself within its working range and signals if it is placed outside it, so an error from a sloping base is caught immediately rather than carried through the whole layout. The mechanism can be locked for transport, which protects the compensator from knocks.

What is the difference between 3 x 180° and 3 x 360°?
At 180° each line covers half a circle - projected forward and to the sides, but not behind the tool. At 360° the line wraps the whole room. For most interior work 3 x 180° is enough, since the tool is placed so the lines cover the work area; 360° saves repositioning when setting out a whole room at once.
How is the tool powered?
By an integrated POWERSTACK rechargeable battery charged over USB-C. No removable packs are used and no proprietary charger is needed - the cable and adapter from a phone or laptop will do, as will a power bank.
How fast does it charge and how long does it run?
80 % of charge takes around 30 minutes, enough for half a day's work. A full charge gives at least 8 hours, so the tool covers a whole working day and charges overnight or during a lunch break.
What is the accuracy and range?

What does 3 x 360° mean on this laser?
The unit projects three complete circular lines - one horizontal around the whole room and two vertical ones set at right angles to each other. Together they form a finished reference system for floor, walls and ceiling without moving the tool. Each line can also be switched on separately.
Why a green beam rather than red?

Why green rather than red
The human eye is most sensitive around 550 nm. A green laser works at 510–530 nm and is perceived several times brighter than a red laser of the same output power. The practical difference shows up exactly where you need it: in a bright room, near a window, on dark or rough surfaces and at longer distances. One important point – the X2 GREEN uses true green diodes rather than a red diode with a frequency converter. Diode lasers light up instantly, work reliably in the cold and do not lose output as they warm up, unlike converter-based designs.
Self-levelling within ±3°
The instrument levels itself automatically within ±3° – enough to compensate for an uneven floor or a tilted stand without fighting adjustment screws. Beyond that range the pendulum reaches its stop and the laser warns you rather than showing a sloping line as though it were level. That matters: the dangerous failure with a laser level is not inaccuracy but an apparently correct line that is not actually level.
Levelling-off mode
Self-levelling can be switched off, at which point the tool projects lines at any angle you set. That is what you need when marking out a slope – a ramp, terrace drainage, a stair handrail, a raked ceiling. The two lines switch on and off independently, so you can work with the horizontal alone or the vertical alone, saving battery and removing the distraction of the second line.
IP54 protection and site use
The housing is rated IP54 – protected against dust and against water splashed from any direction – with rubber protectors along the edges to absorb a fall from a bench or ladder. The operating temperature range is −10 °C to +50 °C, so the tool remains usable through winter in an unheated building. Power comes from 4 AA batteries, which is a genuine practical advantage over a lithium pack: spares are available anywhere, and a level is rarely used intensively enough to justify a rechargeable system.
Typical applications
A cross line laser is the core tool for interior finishing work: transferring a datum line around a room, installing suspended ceilings and plasterboard partitions, tiling walls and floors, fitting kitchen units, hanging frames and light fittings, and setting doors and windows. A horizontal line with a 170° opening covers nearly an entire wall from one position.

Why does a green laser cost more than a red one?
The eye perceives green at 510-530 nm several times brighter than red at the same output power. In a bright room, on a dark surface or at distance, that difference decides whether the line is visible at all without a receiver. Green diodes are also more expensive to make.
How does it differ from the X2 GREEN PROFESSIONAL?
The instrument is the same. What differs is the package: 71014001 comes with a protective bag and batteries, while 71014101 PROFESSIONAL comes with a hard case and a magnetic wall bracket.
What does ±0.20 mm/m accuracy mean in practice?
The deviation grows with distance: up to 0.2 mm at 1 m, up to 1 mm at 5 m, up to 2 mm at 10 m. That is more than adequate for interior finishing work; surveying and precision machine installation call for a different class of instrument.
