The Bosch 1600A039PX is a PRO magnetizer / demagnetizer - a small block that magnetizes or demagnetizes the tip of a standard screwdriver in seconds. How it works

According to Bosch the screwdriver is passed through the right slot of the block and becomes magnetized - or, through the other slot, demagnetized. The magnetic walls of the block charge the screwdriver tip so it holds the screw firmly whenever you need it.

When magnetizing helps

A magnetized tip holds the screw on the screwdriver when working overhead, in a narrow opening, in a panel or behind a board - where a dropped screw means lost time and sometimes dismantling. The reverse operation matters just as much: demagnetizing is needed when working with electronics and fine mechanisms, where clinging swarf and residual magnetism get in the way.

Compact size

The block measures 56 x 52 x 30 mm - it fits in a workwear pocket, a tool box or a service trolley drawer. The BOSCH and PRO logos are moulded into the housing.

The manufacturer states standard screwdrivers. Bosch offers it in the same professional hand-tool range as the single screwdrivers 1600A039T3 - T9 and the 1600A039PJ set, but it works with screwdrivers in general, not only Bosch ones.
