Milwaukee FLEXTRED S1PS 1M110133 Safety Footwear, Size 37
Milwaukee FLEXTRED 1M110133 (article number 4932493702, EU size 37) is protective work footwear with a mid cut profile, certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S1PS. The upper is textile with reinforced nubuck panels.
What class S1PS means
The footwear is antistatic, with heel energy absorption, fuel-oil resistant and with non-metallic penetration resistance. Penetration resistance is non-metallic, which gives better underfoot flexibility and more even coverage than a steel plate, which leaves the edges unprotected.
Entirely metal free
Both the toe cap and the midsole protection are non-metallic. Besides the lower weight, that means the boots pass through metal detectors without being removed - significant in airports, courts, energy sites and controlled-access production. Going metal free also removes the cold bridge through which a steel toe chills the foot in winter.
Laces with a pocket
The footwear uses conventional laces with a stowaway lace pocket. The pocket tucks the lace ends under the tongue, so they do not trail, catch on ladders and scaffolding, or soak up mud. It is a small detail that saves trips on site.
Heel technologies
Three elements work together. ENERGY FOAM is a cushioning insert that returns part of the energy of each step - noticeable after a full day standing on concrete. ROLLCAGE is a stabilising frame that limits sideways roll of the heel on uneven ground. STEP-RELEASE is a tab at the back that lets the boot be levered off with the other foot, without bending down.
Sole and ESD
The sole carries the SR marking for slip resistance and FO for fuel and oil resistance - on contact with fuel it neither degrades nor softens. The footwear is ESD certified, meaning static electricity is discharged in a controlled way, a requirement when working with electronics and in atmospheres with combustible dust or vapour.

Questions and Answers
What size is this footwear?
Article number 4932493702 corresponds to EU size 37. Every size of the model has its own article number, so when ordering check the number rather than the model name alone.
What does the S1PS classification mean?
S1PS denotes antistatic footwear with a closed heel, energy absorption, fuel-oil resistance and non-metallic penetration resistance. It does not include water resistance - wet conditions call for class S3S.
Is there any metal in the construction?
No. Both the toe cap and the midsole protection are non-metallic. The boots pass through metal detectors, weigh less than steel-toed equivalents and create no cold bridge to chill the foot in winter.
What is the lace pocket?
A small pocket under the tongue that tucks the lace ends away. They then do not trail on the ground, catch on ladders and scaffolding or soak up water - a small but practical guard against tripping.
What is ENERGY FOAM for?
It is a cushioning insert in the heel that absorbs the impact of each step and returns part of the energy. The difference is most noticeable after a full day on your feet on concrete or another hard surface.
What does ESD certification mean?
The footwear discharges accumulated static electricity to ground in a controlled way rather than allowing a sudden discharge. That is a requirement when handling electronic components and in atmospheres with combustible dust or vapour.
Are they suitable for all-day wear?
Yes, that is what they are built for. ENERGY FOAM in the heel, the ROLLCAGE stabiliser and the metal-free construction together give lower weight and less fatigue than conventional steel-toed boots.

Milwaukee FLEXTRED S3S 1M171311 Safety Footwear, Size 37

What class S3S means
The footwear is everything in class S1PS plus water resistance of the upper and better protection in wet conditions.
S3S covers everything in S1PS - antistatic, energy absorption, fuel-oil resistance and non-metallic penetration resistance - and adds water resistance of the upper. It is the class for outdoor and wet work.

Milwaukee FLEXTRED S3S 1M171311 Safety Footwear, Size 40
Milwaukee FLEXTRED 1M171311 (article number 4932493744, EU size 40) is protective work footwear with a mid cut profile, certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S3S. The upper is water-repellent nubuck in beige.
What class S3S means
The footwear is everything in class S1PS plus water resistance of the upper and better protection in wet conditions.

Milwaukee Hi-Vis Cut Level E Gloves, Size 8/M, 4932479932
Milwaukee 4932479932 are cut level E work gloves in a high-visibility colour, size 8 (M). They are certified to EN 388:2016 with the code 4X43E and EN ISO 21420. The palm is polyurethane dipped.
What level E means
Under EN 388:2016 cut resistance is expressed as a letter from A to F, determined by the TDM method. E is the second-highest level - between 3,000 and 5,000 newtons of force needed to cut through the material. For comparison, an ordinary work glove is class A or B.
The full code 4X43E reads: 4 - abrasion resistance (highest level), X - the rotating blade test not applicable, 4 - tear resistance (highest), 3 - puncture resistance, E - TDM cut resistance.
What they are for
Level E is the grade for handling materials that cut by their nature: sheet metal and steel section, glass, wire stripping and ducting. Exactly where an ordinary glove is sliced through by a single awkward movement.
Thin, not thick
The usual expectation is that a cut-resistant glove has to be thick. These are the opposite - light and thin, with a polyurethane-dipped palm. The protection comes from the yarn structure, not from bulk, which preserves the feel in the fingers. There is also reinforced nitrile coating between thumb and forefinger - the zone that wears through first when gripping.
Hi-vis and SMARTSWIPE
The fluorescent material gives visibility in poor light - in a shaft, behind a machine, in a load bay. Palm and fingertips carry SMARTSWIPE: they work on a touchscreen, so the phone or tablet is used without taking the glove off. On a level E glove that is not a trivial feature - every removal and refit is a moment without protection.

Under EN 388:2016 cut resistance is a letter from A to F. E is the second-highest level - between 3,000 and 5,000 N of force to cut through. An ordinary work glove is class A or B.
How is the code 4X43E read?
4 - abrasion (highest), X - rotating blade test not applicable, 4 - tear (highest), 3 - puncture, E - TDM cut resistance.
Are they bulky?
No - they are light and thin. The protection comes from the yarn structure rather than from bulk, so the feel in the fingers is preserved.
Do they work on a touchscreen?
Yes - palm and fingertips carry SMARTSWIPE. You use the phone without removing the glove, and on a level E glove every removal is a moment without protection.
What work are they intended for?
Materials that cut by their nature: sheet metal and steel section, glass, wire stripping, ducting - where an ordinary glove is sliced through by a single movement.
What size are they?
8 on the European scale, which is M. Both markings are printed on the glove itself.
Do they protect against an angle grinder?
No. No glove stops a spinning disc or a chain. Cut levels describe sharp edges and static blades, not powered cutting tools.
