Milwaukee FLEXTRED S3S - mid cut safety boots, size 46

FLEXTRED is Milwaukee's line of work footwear where the protection hides inside a trainer silhouette. This model is mid cut, covering the ankle, which matters on broken ground and on scaffolding. The upper is beige nubuck leather with a water-repellent finish and textile panels at the sides for ventilation.

The rating is EN ISO 20345:2022 S3S - the broadest class for metal-free safety footwear, with a penetration-resistant sole, a water-resistant upper and a closed heel. The additional markings are ESD (static dissipation), SC (scuff cap abrasion resistance), FO (sole resistant to oils and fuels) and SR (slip resistance).

Sole and comfort

The midsole is ENERGY FOAM - the name is moulded into the sole itself. It absorbs heel strike on every step, which is the difference you feel in the eighth hour on your feet rather than the first. The outsole has a deep tread for grip on soil, board and steel treads.

Size and article

This listing is size 46. The Milwaukee article number is 4932493750 - in this range every size carries its own number, so quoting the code alone fixes both model and size.

Questions and Answers

Which size is this article?

Size 46. In the FLEXTRED range each size has its own article number, and 4932493750 is the one for 46.

What does S3S mean?

The broadest class in EN ISO 20345:2022 for safety footwear - protective toe cap, penetration-resistant sole, water-resistant upper and closed heel.

What do ESD, SC, FO and SR stand for?

ESD - the boot dissipates static charge. SC - the scuff cap resists abrasion. FO - the sole withstands oils and fuels. SR - the sole is slip resistant.

Is there metal in the toe cap?

No. FLEXTRED reaches S3S without metal, which makes the boot lighter and stops it drawing cold in winter.

What is ENERGY FOAM?

The midsole material, moulded into the sole itself. It absorbs heel strike and is why the boot stays comfortable through a full day.

Are they suitable for outdoor work?

Yes. The upper is water-repellent nubuck and the tread is designed for broken ground, scaffolding and steel treads.

How do I look after nubuck?

Brush it clean after work and use a nubuck proofer. Do not pressure-wash them or dry them on a radiator.
