Rotabroach M2AL Raptor Annular Cutter 16 x 25 mm, RAP160

Rotabroach RAP160 is a professional annular cutter from the M2AL Raptor range, 16 mm in diameter with a 25 mm depth of cut. The shank is a 19.05 mm (3/4 in) Weldon with two flats - the standard accepted by practically every magnetic drill on the market.

M2AL material

Raptor cutters are made from M2AL - high speed steel with an aluminium addition, heat treated at high temperature. The result is greater cutting-edge hardness, a higher cutting speed and longer tool life than an ordinary HSS cutter of the same class.

Tooth geometry

The Raptor range uses a tooth geometry of its own, developed by Rotabroach and different from that of generic cutters. It spreads the load across more cutting edges, which makes the cut smoother, the chip more controlled and the finished hole more accurate with a cleaner wall.

Materials

The cutter is intended for mild and structural steel with a tensile strength up to 900 N/mm². That covers the sections, beams, plate and sheet handled in steel fabrication, bridge building, shipbuilding and general engineering.

Pilot pin and lubrication

The pilot pin is not included - it is ordered separately, and Rotabroach recommends always working with one. The pin centres the start of the cut and ejects the slug at the end of the stroke. Generous lubrication with cutting paste or emulsion multiplies the life of the cutter.

Compatibility

The 19.05 mm Weldon shank makes the cutter compatible with magnetic drills from Rotabroach, ALFRA, BDS, EUROBOOR, HOUGEN, RUKO, UNIBOR, JEI, Evolution, Powerbor and G&J Hall, and with any other machine using the same holder.
