Pica Gel Signal Marker, Red - 8082

Pica Gel 8082 is a signal marker with a red gel lead, which the manufacturer Pica-Marker presents as a replacement for tube paste markers. It marks quickly and with rich contrast, and the marking withstands temperatures of up to 1000 °C. Pica describes it as ideal for marking metal - including rusty or oily metal - and as chloride-free. The photo shows the marker in its holster and without it.

Gel instead of a tube

The gel is advanced by a quality twist mechanism, so there is no tube to squeeze. According to Pica's earlier product sheet this makes marking faster, and one Pica Gel replaces up to 4 tube markers of 50 ml each. The line width can be varied between 2 and 8 mm.

What the manufacturer says about the marking

The gel writes on smooth and rough, light and dark, rusty and oily, hot and ice-cold surfaces. The marking becomes highly permanent after a few minutes, opaque and high-contrast, and is weatherproof and light-resistant. As it is chloride-free, Pica also recommends it for marking stainless steel.

Body and holster

The marker is 154 mm long and the gel tip is 8 mm. The side holster with clip allows one-handed operation, and the robust body is designed for a long service life.

Surfaces and colours

Pica lists metal, tiles, glass, rubber, wet rubber, wood, wet wood, brick and leather as suitable. Pica Gel is made in five colours: white (8080), blue (8081), red (8082), black (8083) and yellow (8084). The manufacturer supplies the markers in packs of 10, and every colour is also available on a blister card (SB).
