Gel Signal Marker Pica GEL Signal Marker, Blue - 8081

Pica GEL 8081 is a blue signal marker with a gel lead from Pica-Marker's Innovative Line. The manufacturer describes it as a fast, efficient and highly permanent marker and as the perfect replacement for tube markers: it marks all surfaces with rich contrast, and the marking withstands temperatures of up to 1000 °C. The marker is particularly suited to metal - even rusty or oily - and is chloride-free.

Gel instead of a tube

In its earlier product sheet Pica states that marking with the gel is considerably faster than working with a tube marker and needs no squeezing, and that one Pica GEL replaces up to 4 tube markers of 50 ml each. The line width can be varied from 2 to 8 mm.

Twist mechanism and holster

The gel is advanced by a high-quality twist mechanism, without effort. The marker is carried in a side holster with a clip, so it is always at hand and can be used with one hand. The tip is 8 mm and the marker is 154 mm long. The manufacturer points to a robust body and a long service life.

What kind of mark it leaves

The gel marks smooth and rough, light and dark, rusty and oily, hot and ice-cold surfaces. After a few minutes the marking becomes highly permanent; it is opaque, high-contrast and weatherproof and light resistant. Being chloride-free, the marker is also suitable for marking stainless steel.

Surfaces and colours

Pica lists metal, tiles, glass, rubber, wood, brick, leather, wet rubber and wet wood as suitable surfaces. Pica GEL comes in five colours: white (8080), blue (8081), red (8082), black (8083) and yellow (8084). The manufacturer supplies the markers in trade packs of 10 and also offers blisters and displays for shops.
