Pica Dry 4043 is a box of 10 white refill leads for the Pica Dry automatic deep hole pencil. The leads belong to the special water jet resistant range: they are permanent and, according to the manufacturer, ideal for wet cutting of tiles and stone. They are 2.8 mm in diameter and 125 mm long.

Water jet resistant and permanent

The marking withstands water, which makes it suitable for work where the material is cut wet. Pica describes these leads as water-resistant and versatile and states that they are chloride-free. The manufacturer warns to protect the leads from temperatures above 40 °C - this is also printed on the pack itself.

Ready to use

The leads come already sharpened, in a convenient and sturdy plastic box. To protect the pencil's mechanism, Pica recommends always inserting the refills into the Pica Dry from the rear.

The manufacturer lists tiles, glass, metal, plastic, brick, wood, leather, rubber and wet rubber as suitable surfaces.

Where they work best

In its earlier product sheet Pica rates materials with up to three stars. These leads are ideal (3 stars) for stainless steel, stone and concrete, metal, processed wood, plastic, glass, tiles and ceramics. They are suitable (2 stars) for dry and wet rubber and for leather.

Variants in the range

The water jet resistant special leads for Pica Dry come in boxes of 10 in blue (4041), green (4042) and white (4043), plus the 4040 colour mix with 8 leads - 3 green, 2 white and 3 blue. This page is for the white leads 4043.
