Pica 4040 is a set of 8 special refill leads for the Pica Dry automatic pencil: 3 blue, 2 white and 3 green. The leads are water-jet-resistant and permanent, and according to the manufacturer ideal for wet cutting of tiles and stone.

Resistant to water

Pica describes the special leads as water-resistant and versatile - for almost all surfaces, and above all for wet cutting of tiles and stone. The leads are chloride-free and come already sharpened. They should be protected from temperatures above 40 °C. In its product sheet Pica lists them for automotive engineering, building construction, electrical work, glazing, locksmithing, mechanics, plumbing and supply engineering, tiling, varnishing and woodwork.

Dimensions and pack

The leads are 2.8 mm in diameter and 125 mm long. They come in a sturdy plastic box with a pull-out tab (PULL). The description on the box is in German, English, French and Dutch, with the article number 4040 and the barcode printed below it.

Surfaces

Pica lists tiles, glass, metal, plastic, brick, wood, leather, rubber and wet rubber as suitable. In its earlier product sheet the manufacturer rates the special leads as ideal for stainless steel, stone and concrete, metal, processed wood, plastic, glass and tiles, and as suitable for dry and wet rubber and leather.

Single-colour sets

Pica also offers the same water-jet-resistant leads in single-colour sets of 10: blue (4041), green (4042) and white (4043). The 4040 set is also available in the hangable pack 4040/SB.
