Pica Classic 588 is a high-quality chalk holder with a push mechanism, made for chalks 11-12 mm thick. The manufacturer offers it in its Classic Line as an accessory to its marking chalks. The chalk is gripped by a metal collet, and the body is made of sturdy plastic with an ergonomic shape.

Ergonomic triangular shape

The body has an ergonomically rounded triangular shape. It is made of impact-resistant ABS plastic, and the push button is in classic Pica green - in its product sheet the manufacturer describes it as a button in a signal colour. The black body is printed "Pica Classic 588 Kreidehalter - Crayon holder - Porte-craie".

Push mechanism and metal collet

The holder works with a push mechanism, and the chalk is held by a metal collet (in its earlier product sheet Pica calls it a metal clamp). In both of its product sheets Pica describes the holder as a high-quality product.

Which chalks it takes

The holder is for chalks from 11 to 12 mm thick. On the holder's page Pica lists its forester and signing chalks and its luminescent chalks as related products. Before buying, check the thickness of the chalk you use.

Chalks in the Pica Classic range

In the same chalk section Pica offers soapstone welding chalk (571), blackboard chalk (581), forester and signing chalks (590/591) and luminescent chalk (592). The thickness of each chalk is given in its own description - for the 588 holder it needs to be 11-12 mm.

Article 588-10 is Pica's designation for the Classic 588 holder with a trade pack of 10. The manufacturer also offers the holder in a hanging self-service blister - article 588/SB. The photo shows the holder itself without a chalk inserted.
