Pica Classic 540 Carpenter Pencil, 24 cm, Graphite 2H - 540/24-10

Pica Classic 540 is a carpenter pencil with an oval cross-section and a 2H graphite lead, offered by the manufacturer Pica-Marker in professional quality. Article 540/24-10 is the 24 cm version, which Pica supplies in a hangable cardboard box of 10 pencils. The photo shows the Classic 540 pencil itself.

Wood and graphite

The body is made of easy-to-sharpen wood from sustainably managed forests. The graphite lead is high-quality, in hardness 2H for rich lines, with high breaking resistance. In Pica's photos the body is red, printed Pica Classic 540.

Which surfaces it marks

The manufacturer lists wood, stone, brick, concrete and metal as suitable surfaces for the Classic 540. For stone and concrete Pica also has a separate stonemason pencil, the Classic 541 with a hard 10H lead.

Pica's packs

Pica offers the Classic 540 in two lengths - 24 and 30 cm - and in two packs for each length: a hangable box of 10 and a display box of 100. For the 24 cm length these are articles 540/24-10 and 540/24-100, and for 30 cm - 540/30-10 and 540/30-100. This page is for article 540/24-10 - hangable cardboard box of 10 pencils; the other 24 cm variant is 540/24-100 (display box of 100 pencils).

Sharpening and carrying

For sharpening thick wooden pencils Pica recommends the Jumbo 560-12 sharpener, and for carrying and sharpening in one the Pica Pocket holster, which according to the manufacturer is ideal in combination with thick wooden pencils of all kinds.
