Permanent Marker XXL - Pica Classic 528, Black, 4-12 mm Chisel Tip, 528/46

Pica Classic 528 Permanent Marker XXL, Black - 528/46

Pica Classic 528/46 is a black XXL permanent marker with a chisel tip. The manufacturer designed it for large, permanent markings on almost all surfaces. It uses a permanent alcohol-based ink that dries fast and is difficult to remove. According to Pica's article card the tip width is 4-12 mm.

Chisel tip for wide lettering

The chisel tip allows a wide range of line widths - from 4 to 12 mm according to the 528/46 article card, while the current range page gives 2-12 mm. One marker therefore covers narrower lines as well as large XXL lettering.

Alcohol-based ink

The ink is permanent and alcohol-based. According to the manufacturer the marking becomes abrasion- and water-resistant after just a few seconds, the ink dries fast and is hard to remove. Pica also states that the ink is free from xylene and toluene.

Surfaces

The manufacturer lists metal, wood, plastic, glass, paper, tiles, rubber and brick as suitable surfaces. The manufacturer sums up its purpose as permanent XXL markings on almost all surfaces.

Where it works best

In its earlier product sheet Pica rates materials with up to three stars. The marker is ideal (3 stars) for metal, processed wood, plastic and glass. It is suitable (2 stars) for tiles and ceramics. It gives an acceptable (1 star) result on dry rubber, stone and concrete, dry raw wood and leather. On porous and rough materials it is therefore worth making a test first. The print on the marker itself repeats the key properties: for most surfaces, instantly waterproof and abrasion-resistant, free from xylene and toluene.

Classic Line range

Classic 528 belongs to the industrial markers of the Pica Classic line. It also includes the 520/521 permanent markers, the 522/532 Instant White marker and pen, the 524 industrial paint marker and the 533/534 permanent pens. Pica ships the black XXL marker 528/46 in trade packs of 10, and a 528/46/SB blister is available for self-service.
