Milwaukee M18 ONEFSAG125XB-0 is a cordless angle grinder for 125 mm discs from the M18 FUEL range with ONE-KEY connectivity. It runs at 8,500 rpm on an M14 spindle with a slide switch. The -0 version comes without battery or charger.

Corded power from a battery

The brushless POWERSTATE motor delivers output comparable with a 1,200 W corded grinder. On site the difference is that the machine depends on no socket and no extension lead - cutting rebar in a trench or on a roof, that often decides whether the job gets finished today.

RAPIDSTOP - the brake

Release the switch and the disc stops in under 2 seconds. On an ordinary grinder it keeps spinning for another 20 to 30 seconds - and those are precisely the seconds in which most cuts happen, when the machine is put down before it has stopped.

Kickback protection

The electronics watch for a sudden stall of the disc and cut the motor before the machine can jump. There is also an anti-restart function - take the battery out and put it back with the switch on, and the grinder will not start by itself.

ONE-KEY

The tool pairs over Bluetooth with the ONE-KEY app. From there it keeps a tool inventory, records the last known location, and the machine can be locked remotely - which makes it useless to a thief.

Changing the disc and the guard

The FIXTEC nut undoes by hand, with no spanner. The guard repositions without a tool as well - turn and it clicks. Between them they remove the most tedious part of grinder work: stopping to change a disc.

Slide switch or paddle

The XB in the name means a slide switch - pushed forward, it stays on. The difference from the paddle version is practical: a slide switch holds the machine running without constant pressure, which suits long grinding runs and dressing welds, whereas a paddle stops the tool the instant the hand relaxes and is preferred for cutting. Which to pick depends on which of the two jobs the crew does most.

Noise and vibration

Sound pressure 82.6 dB(A), sound power 93.6 dB(A). Vibration is 5.01 m/s² surface grinding and 1.65 m/s² disc sanding. EPTA weight is 2.4 to 3.5 kg, depending on the pack fitted.
