Milwaukee FLEXTRED B1M110133 (article number 4932498127, EU size 44) is protective work footwear with a mid cut profile, certified to EN ISO 20345:2022 in class S3S. The upper is water-repellent nubuck leather.

What class S3S means

The footwear is everything in class S1PS plus water resistance of the upper and better protection in wet conditions. Penetration resistance is non-metallic, which gives better underfoot flexibility and more even coverage than a steel plate, which leaves the edges unprotected.

Entirely metal free

Both the toe cap and the midsole protection are non-metallic. Besides the lower weight, that means the boots pass through metal detectors without being removed - significant in airports, courts, energy sites and controlled-access production. Going metal free also removes the cold bridge through which a steel toe chills the foot in winter.

BOA Fit system

Instead of laces the footwear uses a BOA Fit system with a rotating dial. Tightening takes one turn and adjusts precisely, including with gloves on - no untying, no knots working loose through the day. Release is by pulling the dial out. On work where boots come off several times a day, the time saved adds up.

Heel technologies

Three elements work together. ENERGY FOAM is a cushioning insert that returns part of the energy of each step - noticeable after a full day standing on concrete. ROLLCAGE is a stabilising frame that limits sideways roll of the heel on uneven ground. STEP-RELEASE is a tab at the back that lets the boot be levered off with the other foot, without bending down.

Sole and ESD

The sole carries the SR marking for slip resistance and FO for fuel and oil resistance - on contact with fuel it neither degrades nor softens. The footwear is ESD certified, meaning static electricity is discharged in a controlled way, a requirement when working with electronics and in atmospheres with combustible dust or vapour.
