What a pocket tape is for

Hook and case

The hook at the end of the blade slides by exactly its own thickness - a design many take for a defect but which is in fact compensation: measuring an internal dimension it pushes in, measuring an external one it pulls out, so zero stays true either way. The case is rubber overmoulded for grip and to absorb the impact of being dropped.
