What the MT range is

MT is Makita's line for everyday work - more plainly built than the main range, but from the same factory and with the same service network.

Depth and rebate

One millimetre per pass is normal for a planer of this class - material comes off over several passes, not at once. A rebate up to 9 mm deep is made with the side fence, and the V-groove in the base plate lets an edge be chamfered without relying on the eye.

Dust extraction

The spigot is 45/50 mm inside/outside diameter. A planer makes coarse shavings that block sooner than fine dust - the wider outlet helps.

Applications

Levelling timber surfaces, fitting doors and windows, cutting rebates and grooves, chamfering edges, preparing beams and battens before assembly.

Noise and vibration

84 - 87 dB(A) sound pressure depending on the national site, and 95 dB(A) sound power at K = 3 dB(A). Vibration planing softwood is 3.0 m/s² at K = 1.5.
