Bosch GHO 20-82 Professional Electric Planer, 700 W, 82 mm, 06015A9100

The Bosch GHO 20-82 Professional, article number 06015A9100, is a corded electric planer rated at 700 W, running on 230 V and planing 82 mm wide. In Bosch's new naming the model is listed as the PRO GHO 20-82. The manufacturer presents it as an affordable portable planer that combines Bosch quality standards with an ergonomic design and allows controlled planing for a smooth wood surface.

Smooth, flat finish

The even result comes from a consistent depth adjustment mechanism and a precision-machined flat aluminium base. Planing depth adjusts from 0 to 2 mm and rebate depth from 0 to 9 mm. The no-load speed is 16,500 min^-1. With up to 700 W of power, Bosch says the planer delivers an excellent finish even on very hard wood.

Control and comfort

The compact design and the optimised centre of gravity give stable, even planing. According to the manufacturer this reduces strain on the wrist and makes the work more comfortable. The planer weighs 2.7 kg.

Chip ejection to the left or right

An improved airflow design prevents clogging with wood chips. Chips can be ejected on either the right or the left side of the tool, so the planer suits both right- and left-handed users and dust gets in the way less. A dust bag is included, and the parallel guide helps to guide the planer along the edge of the workpiece.

Who it is for

In its catalogue Bosch lists the GHO 20-82 among the tools for construction carpenters and for joiners and woodworkers. The planer is used to level and remove material from wooden surfaces and to cut rebates along the edge of a workpiece. Because it runs on 230 V mains power, it does not depend on battery charge and can be used for long stretches wherever there is a socket.
