Milwaukee M12 HJBL6-0 HEXON TOUGHSHELL Heated Jacket, Black, Size M

M12 HJBL6-0 is a Milwaukee heated jacket built around HEXON HEAT TECHNOLOGY and the TOUGHSHELL stretch shell. This article is black, size M, and ships body only - that is what the -0 suffix stands for: no battery and no charger in the box. The jacket runs on any Milwaukee M12 battery.

Five heat zones, three heat settings

There are 5 heat zones covering the chest, the back and the pockets - which means the hands, the first thing to go cold on a site. Heat comes in 3 settings: high, medium and low. High is for getting warm in the first few minutes; low holds the temperature you have reached without draining the pack.

TOUGHSHELL takes the wear

The outer layer is TOUGHSHELL stretch fabric. Milwaukee quotes the composition as 90% polyester and 10% spandex and rates the material at up to 5 times longer life. The shell is wind resistant and water repellent, so it keeps the wind and light rain off, which is where most of the warmth is lost on an open site.

Battery, pocket and run time

The battery pocket is zipped and pass-through, so the pack can sit at the front or at the back, whichever stays out of the way. On one charge of an M12 REDLITHIUM 3.0 Ah pack Milwaukee rates the jacket at up to 12 hours. An M12 battery controller is supplied with the jacket; the battery and the charger are bought separately.

Fit and care

The waist drawcord and the cuffs adjust to close the heat in. Care follows Milwaukee's own instructions: hand wash and tumble dry at up to 60 °C, no ironing and no bleach. Take the battery and holder out before washing. Milwaukee also offers the IRPSU3 Heated Gear Flat Power Source (not included), which adds app control. The black HJBL6 runs from S to 3XL; this record is size M.
