The Bosch 1600A03AC7 is a 37-piece set with a 1/4 inch drive, laid out in a case. It holds a 1/4 inch ratchet, a universal screwdriver with a magnetic hexagon socket, ten sockets, five adapters and eighteen screwdriver bits. The set belongs to the Bosch Professional hand tool range.

The ratchet in the set

The ratchets in this range use a powder-metallurgy ring gear with 72 teeth, giving a 5 degree working angle - that is all the swing needed for the next tooth to engage, and all there is to be had in a tight space. The body is chrome-vanadium steel, the neck is curved and the handle is soft-gripped. The manufacturer states power transfer up to 50% above the requirement of the ISO 3315 standard. The direction switch changes under the thumb, without taking the hand off the tool.

What the sockets and bits cover

The sockets run from 5 to 13 mm - the range of small fasteners found in panels, boards, clips and furniture. The bits cover the four commonest profiles: cross-head PH and PZ, slotted SL and Torx, plus ALLEN hex from 3 to 6 mm. Every bit is 25 mm long, so it fits both the universal screwdriver's holder and the adapters to the square drive.

The adapters are what make it a set

The five adapters are what turns a box of sockets into a working kit: two extensions of 50 and 100 mm for reaching down, a universal joint for working at an angle, and two converters between the 1/4 inch square and a hexagon drive. Those last two let the bits be turned with the ratchet and the sockets be turned with a cordless screwdriver.
