Bosch PRO Impact Bit Holder, 150 mm, 2608522560

Bosch 2608522560 is a bit holder 150 mm long from the PRO Impact range. The shank is a 1/4" external hex in impact-rated form. Bosch states up to 15 times the durability of the standard 2608522316 holder.

What the extension is for

The holder solves one specific problem: the screw is further in than the machine reaches. With 150 mm you drive into:

• Deep recesses - screws at the bottom of a bore or in concealed fixings.
• Between joists and sections, where the driver body fouls before the bit tip arrives.
• Behind an obstruction - inside a cabinet, in a consumer unit, behind a pipe.

The second, less obvious benefit is visibility: with an extension the machine head sits further back and you can see what you are doing, instead of looking at the driver's housing.

Impact rating

The impact rated designation is not cosmetic. In an impact driver the torque arrives in pulses, and the extension is a long lever between machine and bit - it carries the greatest twisting load in the whole chain. An ordinary holder in that duty twists permanently and eventually snaps right in the middle.

The PRO Impact holder is built for that load, which is where the stated up to 15 times durability over the standard model comes from.

Magnet and retention

The socket holds the bit magnetically. On a long holder that matters more than usual: the bit is far from your hand, and if it is not held it stays in the screw head every time you withdraw. The magnet also holds the screw itself while you place it - at 150 mm reach, often the only way to set a screw one-handed.

Compatibility

The holder takes standard 1/4" hex shank bits and fits an impact driver or the three-jaw chuck of a drill. The range also comes in 60, 75 and 300 mm - 150 mm is the middle, most generally useful size.
