STANLEY STHT47110-0 Aluminium Chalk Reel, 30 m

The STANLEY STHT47110-0 is a chalk reel with a cast aluminium casing, a 30 m line and a 1:1 gear ratio. The tool snaps straight lines quickly and accurately onto a floor, wall, ceiling or board - cheaper and faster than any alternative over long distances.

1:1 gear ratio

At 1:1, one turn of the crank arm retracts the line by one turn of the spool. That is the slow but most controlled rewind: the line lays in evenly and does not twist, unlike fast 3:1 and 6:1 ratios where speed is paid for with less even spooling.

Patented anti-clump spool

The spool uses a patented design against chalk build-up and jamming. That is exactly the weak point of cheap chalk reels: chalk packs around the line, the spool seizes and the tool is finished. A sliding door allows quick, clean refilling without mess. Capacity is 30 g of chalk.

Casing and line

The casing is cast aluminium - more durable than plastic when dropped and in hard environments. The line is 0.7 mm twisted poly, which holds chalk and resists wear. Overall dimensions are 130 x 80 x 40 mm at a weight of 167 g.

Hook, plumb bob and storage

The hook is a single prong with nail centring, so it grips an edge securely or seats on a nail. The bottom doubles as a plumb bob, which saves a second tool when setting out verticals. The hook nests in a dock on top and the crank arm locks away, so nothing snags in the bag.

Applications

Used in bricklaying, flooring, drywall, roofing and board cutting - anywhere a long straight line is needed. The manufacturer states that the model is also available as a kit with chalk refill and level under article STHT47111-0.
