Stanley STA88582-XJ is a right angle attachment from the FatMax range, made for working in tight spaces. The set includes 9 impact bits of 25 mm. The input is a quick-change 1/4" (6.35 mm) hex shank and the output is also a 6.35 mm hex.

When it is indispensable

Every installer knows the situation: the screw is in place, the bit is in place, but the machine will not fit - because there is a wall, a joist or the next cabinet behind it. The right angle attachment turns the axis through 90° and reduces the space needed from the length of a whole driver to a few centimetres. The typical cases are fixing between joists, working inside a cabinet, electrical boxes and driving hard against a wall.

Built for impact drivers

The key phrase in the description is impact ready - the gears are designed for impact loading. That is not a formality: an ordinary right angle attachment on an impact driver does not last, because the pulses break the teeth. Here the gearcase is metal reinforced and the gears are engineered for a long life under that regime.
