Milwaukee M18 FDGRB-0 FUEL Cordless Die Grinder, 18V

The M18 FDGRB-0 is a FUEL series cordless die grinder with a slide switch and a brake. The POWERSTATE motor runs at 27,000 rpm and, according to Milwaukee, delivers performance comparable to a 1200 W corded machine. It takes tools with 6 and 8 mm shanks and accessories up to 50 mm in diameter.

The brake and the safeguards

The brake stops the spindle once the switch is released instead of letting it spin down - on a die grinder that is the difference between setting the tool aside at once and waiting for it. The machine has anti-kickback protection, which cuts the motor if the tool suddenly binds, and a line lock out function: fit a battery with the switch locked on and the tool will not start by itself.

Slide switch and vibration

The switch is a slide lock-on type - it stays on without constant pressure, which saves the hand over a long run along a weld or an edge. The AVS system reduces transmitted vibration. Speed is not variable; the tool runs at one speed.

Applications

Dressing welds, working edges and chamfers, cleaning castings, die and press tool work, fine metal removal - wherever an angle grinder is too coarse or simply will not fit.
