Milwaukee 4932498646 is a side-mount battery rack from the PACKOUT system, made for M12 batteries. It holds up to 3 batteries and attaches to the PACKOUT rails.

What it solves

M12 batteries are small, and that is exactly why they disappear - they drop to the bottom of the case, roll around in the consumables box, stay in the bag at the far end of the site. The rack puts them on the outside of the stack, where you can see them and take one with one hand without opening anything.

There is a practical benefit that shows up later too: a battery loose among metal objects is a battery with exposed terminals among metal. In the rack each battery is held separately.

Mounting on the rails

The rack attaches to the PACKOUT rails - the same profiles the rest of the system's accessories clip onto. It can be fitted in either orientation, so you decide whether the batteries face up or sideways depending on how the stack is arranged and where you reach from.

Durability

The body is impact resistant. That is not a spare feature: the rack sits on the outside of the stack and takes every knock in the load bay and every catch on the van door - the place where ordinary plastic cracks in the first winter.

Where else it goes

Besides a case in the system, the rack works on a workshop wall if a rail is fixed there - same principle, same fitting. The common arrangement is one rack on the trolley and one on the wall beside the chargers: charged batteries live in one place and do not get mixed up with the flat ones.
