The Makita DKP181ZJ 18V LXT 82mm cordless brushless planer features a powerful brushless motor that delivers power comparable to that of AC models. The DKP181 is part of the Makita Auto-start (AWS) cordless system-with the optional wireless module (sold separately), a wireless connection can be established between the tool and an AWS-compatible vacuum for wireless vacuum activation when the tool's trigger is pulled. The powerful brushless motor allows for a maximum cutting depth of 3 mm.
The body design has been redesigned to allow for a cutting depth of up to 25 mm, with easy beveling by aligning the groove with the edge of the workpiece. The blade stops quickly after the trigger is released, preventing injury to the user or damage to the workpiece. Automatic Torque Control (ADT) technology automatically adjusts the cutting speed according to load conditions for optimal performance. Left and right chip ejection, which easily directs wood chips to the left or right by adjusting the ejection cover plate to the preferred side. The foot on the base plate protects the workpiece from scratches and damage by lifting the base off the workpiece when not in use.
