Hand Tool Set - Bosch, Mixed, 89 Pieces, in Case, 1600A03AL2

Bosch Professional Mixed Hand Tool Set, 89 Pieces, 1 600 A03 AL2

Bosch 1 600 A03 AL2 is a mixed set of 89 pieces in a sturdy case with metal latches. Bosch lists it as a mixed hand tool set rather than a pure socket set - the box also holds a hammer, pliers and a tape measure, which makes it the set for a house, a workshop or a service van rather than a specialised kit for one job.

What the set contains

In Bosch's official photograph the upper tray holds a utility knife with spare blades, a folding wooden rule, a row of double open-ended spanners marked 8x9, 10x11, 12x13, 14x15, 16x17 and 18x19, and an adjustable wrench. The lower tray holds a hammer, combination pliers, side cutters, long-nose pliers, two screwdrivers, a 5 m tape measure, a ratchet with extensions and a bit holder, a row of hex sockets and two full rows of bits. Bosch does not publish an itemised list of the 89 pieces.

The case

The case has metal latches and a moulded nest for every piece. The nests are not decoration: in a set that gets carried, a missing tool shows up the moment the lid closes, rather than on site.

What it is for

The set covers ordinary household and service work - assembling and stripping furniture, small repairs on a car or motorcycle, maintaining equipment, fitting out a flat. For heavy professional use in one place Bosch offers the larger 134-piece 1 600 A03 AL1, with two rows of sockets and two ratchets.
