The DeWalt DWST1-71196 is a transport trolley from the TSTAK storage system with a load capacity of 100 kg. Cases clip to it with side latches and the whole stack travels at once. Cases are not included - the trolley is bought separately from them.

Large rear wheels

The rear wheels are air-filled, 7 inches in diameter. That is the difference you feel outside a warehouse: large pneumatic wheels roll over gravel, mud, grass, kerbs and broken site surfaces, while the small hard castors on ordinary trolleys stick at the first bump. The front wheels swivel through 360° and lock, giving manoeuvrability in tight corridors and stability when parked.

Clipping into the system

Side TSTAK latches fix the cases to the trolley and to each other. The stack does not come apart when the trolley is tilted, and there is no need to steady the load by hand while crossing a threshold or going up a step.

Handle and securing

The handle is telescopic aluminium with three positions - matched to the operator's height and to how tall the loaded stack is. A tensioning strap is included for extra security on rough ground or in transit in a van.

How many trips it saves

The arithmetic is simple. A full case of cordless machines weighs between 12 and 20 kg; carrying it by hand from the van to the third floor and back takes minutes and tires you out. With three cases that is three trips. With the trolley the stack goes at once, and on stairs it climbs step by step rather than the whole load being lifted. On a site entered and left several times a day, the difference is measured in hours a week.

Dimensions and construction

The trolley measures 285 x 490 x 700 mm and is of aluminium construction - light enough to lift on its own and strong enough for a 100 kg load. Folded, it takes little space in a boot or van.

Who it is for

The trolley is aimed at tradespeople working with the TSTAK system who move tools between van and workplace. Its main benefit is not carrying weight but the number of trips: instead of three there-and-backs with one case each, the stack moves in one go.
