DEWALT DWST83542-1 is a ToughSystem 2.0 tool bag in the 22-inch size, released as a limited McLaren F1 Team Special Edition. Part of the ToughSystem 2.0 range

The base is rigid and carries the ToughSystem 2.0 profile, so this is not a standalone holdall but a module of the system - it latches and stacks onto the other ToughSystem 2.0 boxes and drawer units. In practice that means the whole stack moves in one lift instead of a bag in one hand and a case in the other.

Over 50 pockets, open from every side

Inside and out there are over 50 pockets. The elasticated outer loops along the sides take screwdrivers, pliers and spanners, while the internal pockets hold batteries, a charger and small consumables. A double zip runs the full length of the top rim, so the bag opens out wide and gives access from any side - you look down into it rather than digging through it.

1680D fabric and a waterproof base

The body is 1680 denier ballistic nylon combined with a dirt- and water-repellent tarpaulin fabric. The base is waterproof and moulded as a rigid tub, so the bag can be set straight down on a wet or dusty floor without the contents drawing damp from underneath. That is what separates a jobsite bag from an ordinary fabric holdall.

Top bungee and carrying

A bungee cord runs along the top rim; tall power tools - a drill driver, an SDS hammer, an angle grinder - clip under it vertically instead of taking up room in the main compartment. For carrying there is an ergonomic centre handle and a padded shoulder strap, plus a D-ring on the front pocket.

McLaren F1 Team Special Edition

The livery is black and orange, with the McLaren Formula 1 Team and DEWALT logos on the front pocket and a SPECIAL EDITION legend above them. The construction is that of the standard 22-inch ToughSystem 2.0 bag; only the colourway and the print differ. The run is limited and not in continuous production.

Applications

This bag is built for mobile work - electricians, plumbers, furniture fitters, service engineers. It takes a set of cordless machines with their batteries and charger plus the hand tools for the day. For static van storage the hard ToughSystem 2.0 cases suit better, and this bag stacks into the same column with them.
