DeWalt DWC125-013 is a work polo shirt from the Rutland line in black/grey, size L. It is made entirely from PWS polyester - a fabric that actively moves moisture away from the skin.

What PWS is

PWS (Performance Wicking System) is DeWalt's system for moving sweat away. The principle is simple but it is what separates a work shirt from an ordinary one: polyester fibres do not absorb moisture into themselves, they carry it along their surface to the outside, where it evaporates. The result is a shirt that dries fast and does not stick to your back.

That is exactly why there is no cotton here. A cotton tee soaks up sweat and holds it - pleasant for the first hour, wet and cold by the third. For physical work outdoors that is uncomfortable, and on a cold day it is dangerous.

Mesh panels

There are mesh inserts down the sides and sleeves. They sit exactly where the body runs hottest and where nothing bears on the fabric - the shoulders and back stay solid cloth because of rucksack and belt, and the ventilation runs down the flanks.

Reflective strips

Each sleeve carries a reflective strip. That does not make the shirt high-visibility clothing to EN ISO 20471 - it has neither the fluorescent background nor the area the standard requires. The strips are extra visibility in poor light: a car park, a garage, work at dusk. Useful, but no substitute for a hi-vis vest on the road.

Cut

The fit is relaxed, the seams are flatlock, and the hem has side slits. A flatlock seam has no ridge to chafe as you move - in a shirt worn under a tool belt, that is a practical difference. The side slits let the shirt stay put instead of riding up when you bend. The front has a collar and a short button placket.

Care

Wash up to 40 °C. As with any technical fabric, do not use fabric softener - it blocks the fibres and removes exactly the property you paid for.
