DeWALT DCK304P2-QW Cordless Kit, 18V XR, 3 Tools, 2 x 5.0 Ah

DCK304P2-QW is a three-tool brushless 18V XR kit: the DCH133 rotary hammer with an SDS-plus holder, the DCF620 drywall screwdriver and the DCG405 angle grinder for 125 mm discs. Two 5.0 Ah batteries, a charger and a fabric bag are supplied.

Why these three

The combination is not arbitrary - this is the drywall fitter's set. The rotary hammer makes the holes in the concrete slab for the track anchors, the grinder cuts the profiles to length, and the drywall screwdriver drives the boards to a set depth. Between them the three tools cover a whole floor without leaving the battery platform.

DCH133 - SDS-plus rotary hammer

Brushless, with 2.6 J of impact energy and up to 5,500 blows per minute at 0-1,500 rpm. It drills up to 26 mm in concrete, 13 mm in steel and 30 mm in timber. There are three modes - drilling, hammer drilling and chiselling. It weighs 2.27 kg.

DCF620 - drywall screwdriver

Brushless, with a depth stop that sinks the screw head to a set level below the surface without tearing the paper. The clutch engages only under pressure on the screw, which saves battery and allows one-handed work.

DCG405 - 125 mm angle grinder

A brushless grinder for 125 mm discs with a paddle switch. It cuts profiles, rebar and tiles, and dresses welds.

What is not in the kit

The tools arrive bare of consumables. SDS-plus drill bits, PH2 drywall bits and 125 mm discs are bought separately. So is the collated screw strip if the screwdriver is to run with a magazine - the DCF620 takes the DCF6201 attachment, but that is not part of the kit. The grinder comes with a guard and side handle, and the hammer with a handle and depth rod.

Power and storage

Two DCB184 18V XR 5.0 Ah batteries and a DCB115 charger. The kit ships in a fabric bag rather than a hard case - lighter to carry up stairs, but without impact protection.
