Bosch GVC 18V-25-120D Cordless Concrete Vibrator, 18V

The GVC 18V-25-120D is a cordless poker vibrator for compacting fresh concrete. The vibrating head is 25 mm in diameter and sits on a flexible shaft 1.2 m long, so the machine stays in the operator's hands while the poker goes down into the formwork. Bosch describes the model as intended for small and medium-sized compaction work.

What the vibration does

Fresh concrete holds air trapped during the pour. Left in place it becomes voids and honeycombing at the surface, which reduce load capacity and let water reach the reinforcement. The poker introduces vibration, the air rises out, and the mix settles tightly around the reinforcement and into the corners of the formwork. With a 25 mm head the tool suits thin walls, columns, beams and congested reinforcement where a thicker poker will not fit.
