The Bosch 1600A03AC3 is a folding utility knife, 174 mm long when open, 37 mm wide and 24 mm high. The blade is SK5 steel, the housing is plastic, and the tool weighs 0.122 kg.

One-handed opening and use

The knife opens and folds on a button, so the whole operation is one-handed - the other hand stays on the material being cut. Folded, the blade is enclosed in the housing: the tool travels in a pocket or on a belt with no sheath and no risk. The handle has soft-grip areas and an ergonomic body that spreads the pressure across the palm over a longer cut.

Blade change and spare blade storage

The knife has a quick-change blade system: a worn blade comes out without a screwdriver and without dismantling. The housing itself holds a magazine for spare blades - they travel with the tool, so the change happens where you are, not after a walk back to the bag. SK5 is a carbon tool steel and the usual material for trapezoid blades: it holds a keen edge and dulls slowly on cardboard, plastic sheet and insulation.

Tether hole

The housing has a tether hole, so the knife can be clipped on for work at height, or simply hang from the belt instead of being hunted for in pockets.

Applications

Cutting cardboard and packaging, insulation materials, waterproofing membranes, plastic sheet, leather and fabric, trimming seals and films, opening sacks and boxes, rough work on plasterboard. The folding form is preferred when the knife is carried all day and taken out several times an hour.
