The Bosch 1600 A03 B68 is an adjustable wrench with an overall length of 300 mm (12") and a jaw opening range of 0 - 42 mm. One wrench replaces a whole row of fixed spanners: the same jaw covers small fasteners and nuts up to 42 mm, which makes it useful for installation, repair and maintenance work where the fastener sizes are not known in advance.

Construction and materials

The body is made of carbon steel for strength and durability. The reinforced jaw structure delivers high power transfer from the hand to the fastener - Bosch states a torque rating of +30% against the standard. The wrench conforms to ISO 6787, the international standard for adjustable wrenches, which defines dimensions, opening range and strength requirements.

Handling and safety

The handle is a multi-component design with soft-grip areas that reduce fatigue during long jobs and improve control when hands are oily. The jaw carries a metric graduation so the wrench can be set to the nut or bolt size directly, without trial and error. A tether hole is formed at the end of the handle - the tool can be attached with a lanyard when working on scaffolding, a platform or a roof, so it cannot fall from height.

Applications

Plumbing and heating installations, automotive work, machine maintenance, assembly of steel structures and furniture, and any situation where a single tool has to cover a wide range of sizes. The flat head also reaches into openings where a ratchet and socket cannot be turned.

Care

Keep the worm screw free of dust and metal chips and lubricate it occasionally with a few drops of machine oil - this keeps the jaw adjustment smooth. The wrench is not intended to be struck with a hammer and must not be extended with a pipe.
