The DeWALT DWST83517-1 is a three-section storage tower from the TSTAK system: a wheeled mobile box at the base, a deep box in the middle and a shallow box on top. The three latch together and roll as one — raise the telescopic handle and the whole set moves on wheels, instead of carrying three cases in three trips.

The mobile base

The bottom box (DWST83347-1) carries 50 kg, has a telescopic handle that retracts into the body, and 7-inch wheels. The seven inches are the number that matters: a smaller wheel drops into gravel, a cable duct and a threshold, while this one rolls over them. The two upper boxes take 30 kg each, which puts the loaded tower at around 110 kg on one pull.

IP54 on every box

All three boxes carry an IP54 seal — protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction. In practice that means the tower can stand out in the rain, in the back of a pickup and in the plaster dust of a site without the contents getting wet or gritty. It is not immersion-proof; IP54 covers what a site throws at it, not a bucket of water.

How they connect

The side latches use metal pins, not plastic tabs — this is the part that fails first on cheap systems, and it is exactly why DeWALT made it metal. The front latches are reinforced metal too. Each box takes a padlock (not included), and each body has a built-in mounting point for a DEWALT tracker, so a box can be followed through Tool Connect — useful for kit that stays on site overnight.

What is inside

The deep box (DWST83346-1) comes with a half-width inner tray — small fixings and hand tools sit on top and stay reachable without digging through the whole volume. The shallow top box is for whatever needs to be most accessible.

Who it is for

For a tradesperson moving between sites and hauling their kit every day. The set is also an entry into the TSTAK system — DeWALT's other modules clip onto the same side latches, so the tower can grow.
